The only reason I can think of that you would be stuck on "waiting" (unable to select "continue" if I'm reading correctly) is if one of your instruments is busy selecting a character. Be sure that the only option available for all characters in the session is "select rocker."

Have you tried using a PS3 controller? The mic needs a controller to navigate the menus. Odd though, I have the guitar, mic, and drums hooked up but only used the guitar and drums most of the time. I only have to use a controller when someone wants to sing on the mic.

It shows the characters are selected as default characters. One of us is identified as the leader. We have no other option available. The only keys which respond is to go backwards and unselect the characters and unjoin if that's a word.

We had actually been using the guitar to navigate and then when we plugged in the mic we decided to use the PS3 controller and that's when we first started having the problem. As I said now we have disconnected both the mike and the PS3 controller and turned the entire system off. We have restarted it with only the Fender and the drums, but cannot proceed.

Hello I know this is really weird and I would think it is user error but my husband and I have been sitting here at the same frustrating screen for almost an hour.

Earlier we were playing he was on the guitar and I was on the drums.

Then we added the mike.

Ever since then we cannot play the game in multiplayer. We have unhooked the mike and the controller, and gone back to just the guitar and drums. When we choose local multiplayer and then get the screen where it shows the guitar, drums, mike, guitar and chose join band. Then it says select rocker, then default rocker, and then nothing else. We don't get an option to continue to select the difficulties or songs. Previously when we had the mic hooked up, it would also say WAITING like we were waiting for someone else to join. I tried to call support but they are closed.

We really are not idiots although I am starting to feel like one. Has anybody else seen a problem like this?

We get the continue option if we are playing the world tour. But not in quickplay.

Well go figure now it is working. I have no idea. We have not done anything different. We can use the mic too. I am going to leave this up here in case someone has the same problem. No solution but at least they know they are not nuts.

My son and I are experiencing similar problems. I am assuming that this is a new user problem, but I am not sure. We have tried things exactly as it states in the user manual. We are just trying to play World Tour with lead and rhythm. Our platform is the 360, and we are using the stratocaster and the Les Paul from our Guitar Hero III. We can quickplay together without a problem, but whenever we try to start a band, we run into the same problem that others here have outlined. My son is the leader, and it allows him to go to continue, but when I sign in, it keeps making me go in a circle. When I choose a character, it sends me back to set up a new character, and never allows me to go ahead. We have reversed guitars, changed our socks, flushed the toiler, but nothing seems to work. I pray that some one will see this and help us to get going.
