Mic Not Working? Software Problem?

Ive tried my mic in every usb port and have tried everything imajinable but cant seem to figure it out. any help?

Are you able to select the singer from the band member selection screen, and see the lyrics during gameplay, but nothing audible comes from the singer?

If you aren't even able to select the singer, it took me a while to figure that one out too, you have to enter the band via a regular console controller.

I little pic of the ps3 controller for the mic selection would of helped. knowing you could tap the mic for cow bell or tambo.... I figured tapping it would be x button...nope
