I haven't had any problems with my Rock Band drums in months, ever since getting my 3rd replacement set. (I think they're SLs, though it's been so long that I don't remember - they're whatever the 3rd type of drums is.)
All of a sudden now, I'm getting an intermittent problem where in the middle of playing a song, the game pauses with the error that my Rock Band drum controller has been disconnected.
The drums are _not_ actually disconnected. I can immediately restart the game with the drum controller which continues to function normally during the song. So it's as if there's some sort of wonky electrical connection making the game think that the drums have been unplugged.
Has anyone seen this? Any suggestions for trying to fix it?
I _think_ it may be correlated somewhat with use of the red drum, though I haven't proved that to myself conclusively. Is there anything on the drums that can be taken apart to check the quality of signal / wire connections?
