Nothing works, going crazy

I just bought my rockband ONLY the game, and I asked the people working at the store if it works with guitar-hero guitar as I thought it did, and they confirmed.
THEN when im trying to play the game it says I have to use some microphone to play and it didn't say requires microphone or nothing, so whats this crap?:mad:

What system? If it's PS3, there's a patch...if it's the Wii, I think you're out of luck.

That's because you are signed in on your xbox controller (which is the gateway to using the microphone). You need to sign your profile in on the guitar only. Give that a shot.

(Thats if you are using an xbox of course)

You must be connected to the internet. When you start up the game it should prompt you to download a patch.

Once the patch is downloaded and installed you will be able to use the LP with the game. I have one, it works but it's VERY laggy.

Are you turning the ps3 on with the guitar? Make sure you don't have a regular controller on.

You can't turn on the PS3 with a guitar. The dongles are powered by the PS3. The contoller doesn't make any difference. It's mapped to vocals. This is why the OP is getting the "no microphone detected" error message.

Naa, I only has the guitar on when started, I will try to connect to internet and download the patch

I think you also have to create a free PSN account and be connected to the Playstation Network for the patch to be downloaded.
