1. Post New Hard Rock/Nu Metal artists and videos in this thread.

2. No fighting, if someone comes in and makes a bad comment just ignore them please.

3. This is for newer bands that can be considered Hard Rock or Nu Metal.

4. I will keep a list of bands in this post, bands with a * by their name are featured in Rock Band, the number of *'s are the number of songs that band has in the game.

5. Trying to keep this list nice and neat so if a band has three or more songs in the game they are removed.

I think Evanessence is considered nu metal

10-03-2008, 07:00 AM
how about some more Lacuna Coil? they are kinda nu-metal/hard rock with their newer material... which is my favourite of their stuff!

I think Evanessence is considered nu metal

They are too alternative.

how about some more Lacuna Coil? they are kinda nu-metal/hard rock with their newer material... which is my favourite of their stuff!yeah I guess you can see them as nu-metal, I'll add them.

Post a link to this 'genre' thread in the "Thread of Threads (http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40679)" so Rock_Band_Over can add it to the lists.

I'm always in favor of more organization.

Edit, link the other topic, since this is a duplicate. I'll report this to try and get them merged.

I don't think we need one more drop of NU-metal in RB. It's enough as it is already, k thx bye.

PFFT it doesn't get more nu metal than Evanessence wtf are you talking about? lol

Alternative = Coldplay and stuff

Evanessence = Like that how?

Go listen to "Bring me to life" by Evanessence that is pure nu metal seriously

Listing Lacuna coil & Within temptation as nu metal but not Evanessence = crazy

You must just hate them or something

I think they are one of the better nu metal bands though

Chevelle
10-03-2008, 08:03 PM
Alternative is anything not rock, their too alternative as in metal, which is different from nu-metal, their is a difference in the music, Lacuna Coil and Within Temptation are more Rock....if they were more rock I would list them, but their not.

My first thought was "YOU PUT HARD ROCK AND NUMETAL INTO ONE CATEGORY!?!?"

Upon looking at the list, however, I no longer have any complaints.

Great list Chevelle. You listed some of the same lesser known bands that I also would love to have: 10 Years, Cold, 12 Stones, Project 86, Brian "Head" Welch, etc.

I would add Audioslave, A Perfect Circle, Jimmy Eat World, Submersed (actually just Hollow), and possibly Mute Math.

Chevelle
10-10-2008, 02:27 PM
Thanks guys, I added Anew Revolution and Submersed, those other bands you mentioned guns31 are too alternative for this.

oh boy, we might as well title this "what radio considers 'heavy' thread." im sorry but most of these bands sound a lot alike musically, not vocally. i would only take mudvayne, disturbed, and 10 years cuz the 10 years vocalist is amazing.

Great choices. You've already got most of my favorite bands, including Nonpoint, Sevendust, Cold, Evans Blue and Earshot. I'd also like to see 32 Leaves, Karnivool, Esoterica, Skindred, Flaw, The Exies, Faktion, Veer Union, Thousand Foot Krutch, Edgewater, Strata, Framing Hanley, Miser, Thornley, Fear Nuttin' Band, Pop Evil, Under the Flood, Deepfield, Revis, Egypt Central, Decyfer Down, Fair to Midland, 40 Below Summer, Five Bolt Main, Darwin's Waiting Room, Pillar, Helmet, Apex Theory, Glassjaw, Candiria, Dark New Day and Evanescence(say what you will about them, but they are a nu metal band, especially if we're including Nickleback, Linkin Park, and Incubus).

I could probably list more because this type of music dominates my cd collection and I've seen a lot of them play live.(Just saw Cold a couple of weeks ago)And it would be great to see some more recent hard rock/ nu metal on rb. Great Post.
