You've won a contest! Now what? (Make your own 12-pack)

Okay guys here's the situation. You log on to the forums one day only to find a PM from one of the HMXers (Henry, Sean, etc)... the PM says they have randomly selected one member of the forums to control one week of DLC and YOU are that member. They will be naming a 12-pack of tunes after you (ex: kingtonyx Pack) and you get to select which songs will be involved.

Things you need to know...

1) They still need to be able to get the licensing for these tracks, so with that in mind please avoid the following bands: Van Halen, The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles

2) Note that all masters are not available. This goes for many classic tracks and for Iron Maiden as well. Select these songs only if you are okay with covers!

Things to consider...

1) This pack will run $19.99 or 1600 Microsoft Points. You will still have to pay, but as you are selecting the tracks this should not be too much of an issue.

2) This pack will be available for everyone to purchase, not just you. What fun would it be if it were just you? You couldn't play multiplayer online or anything...

3) This pack will have your name on it. So if people consider it a great week of DLC or a bad week of DLC that all goes on your shoulders.


So now, what tracks to you pick? Do you just pick your 12 favourite songs? Do you consider how the songs might be charted? Do you consider other people when picking the songs or just yourself? Let's see your packs :D I need to think this over a bit and I'll post mine tomorrow...

Reasoning: These are songs that would probably never be put in the game. +44 - Lycanthrope
I've seen alot of requests for "When Your Heart Stops Beating", but personally I feel that this song is superior. Fairly good for a bassist or vocalist, but the song shines more for guitarists and drummers.

Bloc Party - Banquet
Better than the better-known "Helicopter", this is one for the vocalists. Some good drum fills in there, solid enough for bass and guitar.

Blur - Song 2
Classic song, short but sweet, speaks for itself. Preferably not a cover like Beetlebum, though.

Interpol - Slow Hands
One of their better, more commercial songs, this'll be one of the easier songs in the pack. Simple note streams for guitar and bass, decent drumming, easy for a vocalist to keep in tune with.

Lostprophets - Burn, Burn
"Rooftops" is apparantly one of the tracks for GH:WT, but personally this is a better song. Bass and guitar may grow repetitive for some, but the drumming is great and the song's catchy enough to bring out for parties and the like.

Paramore - Misery Business or Let The Flames Begin
What can I say, I had to throw something in for female vocalists too. "Misery Business" is going to be in GH:WT, but is obviously their biggest hit and really DOES fit the Band dynamic. Failing that, I'd go for "Let The Flames Begin"; a good song that will keep vocalists on their toes, drummers will hopefully enjoy it too. Some fun moments for guitar and bass.

Slipknot - Left Behind
I know people have probably gotten tired of the influx of metal that's been coming in recently, but I couldn't really omit this one. Alright, so vocalists might want to give this one a wide berth, but the drumming would be brutal. Decent enough for guitar and bass too.

The Cribs - Men's Needs
I love the lyrics for this song, and would hope that the transition from the verses to the chorus would keep a vocalist interested. Drums and bass are fairly mid-to-low tier, guitar could be great, particularly the solo towards the end.

The Pigeon Detectives - I Found Out
More British indie/alternative, I know! Fairly good for bassists and drums, some great moments on guitar. Lyrics are catchy, will hopefully be a draw to vocals players.

The Wombats - Let's Dance To Joy Division
Decent on guitar. Has it's moments on the drums and bass. Great lyrically, very catchy. Another great 'party' song.

U2 - Until The End Of The World or Sunday Bloody Sunday
I can't decide between the two. The former has some fantastic moments on guitar and bass, while I would love to play the latter as a drummer. Both offer a decent challenge to vocalists and remain universally fun across the three instruments. It really depends on what your flavour is, I guess.

We Are Scientists - Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt
Another fairly simple song that's bloody catchy. Decent enough for guitar and bass, catchy for vocalists and great for drummers.

Probably not going to appeal to everyone, as there's no Rush or Tool in there. :p

I merely took the opportunity to suggest some music that both my bandmates and I would like to play (as I currently have problems with getting our vocalist singing songs such as Green Grass or Gimme Shelter; she's always asking for British indie/alt and more stuff she knows), in addition to taking into account a fair amount of requests and suggestions I've seen on the forum.
