I don't know if this is a stupid question, since i've never used a wireless guitar before, but I can't connect my PS3 guitar to the USB. I made sure it had the right batteries, made sure the "on" switch was on (did all the obvious things) but pressing the small white button on the guitar will not work, nor will the PS button. ?

you have to put that little black box that came in the guitar stuff in the usb port.

if the red light is blinking, you need to press it's little button.

really all i need to know is the sequence (if there is one) as far as plugging in the little black box, turning on the guitar, pressing the PS button on the guitar, and pressing the little white button on the guitar, and if or when i should press the little button on the box that plugs into the USB

From my own experience, it makes no difference. Turn on the guitar first, or plug in the dongle first, no difference.

Try this though...

Plug in the dongle, and it should have some sort of red light (either flashing or static) and then hit the PS button on the guitar. It should have the red ring around it, but hit it again anyway. Hopefully you will get the screen that pops up asking if you want to quit a game, turn off the system, etc (like the PS button always does). If you get this, just hit the red fret button on the guitar (the equivalent to the circle button) and you should be good to go from then on.

If you aren't getting a red light on the dongle, it's probably broken. Make sure it's plugged in all the way, and if no light, and no response from the guitar, bring it back to the store.
