No Overkill or Exodus? Bah! For delivering consistent ass-kicking thrash releases since their inception, I have to give it to the 'Kill.

Motorhead. Despite my adoration of Rob Halford's vocals, Lemmy's bass is more "speed metal" to me.

On the list, Helloween, definitely my favorite up there.

Megadeth is the only one on the list I actually like. I'm not a big metalhead, but Megadeth actually can keep me listening.

Megadeth for me as well. I don't like any of the other bands on the list.

Slayer for me, though that list has some of my favorite bands on it.
Ive always respected Megadeth, had all their discs through Symphony. RB DLC actually got me listening for the deeper layers.

Pantera and Helloween aren't really Thrash, just influenced by it.
And I'm not voting for my love of thrash.

Those are some great choices, but Vio-lence will always be my favorite thrash band.

Metallica. Venom, Slayer, and Megadeth are pretty close behind.

Helloween is not Thrash or Speed, they are Power Metal.

Tough call between Slayer and Motorhead, voted Slayer in the end.

In future polls, I'd like to see more from the German thrash bands, namely, Kreator, Sodom and Destruction.

Helloween is not Thrash or Speed, they are Power Metal.
Power metal was practically defined as Helloween, but the early Helloween material could easily be considered speed metal. Remember genres aren't really very exact.
I voted for Anthrax, but if Overkill were on the list I'd have voted for them instead. I'm a big fan of quite a few of these bands though so there are a lot that I love here that I couldn't vote for by virtue of the fact I could only vote for one. Megadeth, Testament, Helloween in particular deserve a shout.
I am surprised at the lack of Anthrax support though. Can I just ask if everyone voting has actually heard a representative amount of all the bands in the list? There does seem to be quite a lot of votes going to the two with the most DLC currently available.

People need to stop voting for Metallica and for Testament.

Anthrax hasn't had a release that was popular or decent for the past 18 years.

Why? Cuz they're good bands who make great music???

There's several bands I love on that list, and several more I wish could have been fit on. Namely Kreator, Evile, Judas Priest, and The Haunted.
I ended up voting Metallica by a very narrow margin over Megadeth. You really couldn't go wrong with several of the listed bands though.

I chose Megadeth. They've been more consistent for me than Slayer even.

Megadeth for me with Testament as a close 2nd.
Kreator and Sacred Reich should've been up there as well

Sacred Reich only had one great release IMO, they had a second decent release, but not really enough to put them on this poll.
And no Dave McClain being their drummer does not help them out at all, especially when Machine Head is Groove.

Even if Metallica wasn't the only one on that list I listen to, I'd vote Metallica just to spite you.
...Although I DID like "Peace Sells"...

Accept is my favorite speed metal band, but I voted for Anthrax out of the given choices.

I voted for Anthrax, I was huge into all of these bands at one point, but Anthrax is the one I'm most likely to listen to today. I disagree with whoever said they haven't had a good release in 18 years as I still like the first Bush album, after that the changing music scene is as much to blame for their decline as anything - its around the same time I stopped caring about most of these other bands as well.
Had Death Angel been here I'd have voted for them.
