To think all these months we've heard the drums were perfect. So sad.

That's the second drummer I've seen that's called singles or single-strokes "rolls." Is there a reason for that? Maybe they're called rolls in a rhythm game or something? Typically "rolls" are almost exclusively reserved for multiple bounce rudiments, such as buzz or open-stroke rolls. Although as far as the PAS standard goes, the single stroke rudiment is technically called the "single stroke roll," but that is almost never used in that context.
Anyways the pads aren't ultra responsive, but mine still register double-strokes and hertas pretty well. I guess it's just one of those trade-off things where you can either make the pads ultra ultra sensitive and risk breaking due to abuse (which is a valid design point considering the number of new people that will beat the everloving crap out of them) or make them a little more shock-absorbent and deal with the stroke ED.
I've had to play the quick doubles in Tom Sawyer with heel-toe pedal techniques. My usual beater rebound w/ the ball of my foot just doesn't work with the RB pedal.

They had somebody that came to my house (a friend's friend) who was excited for Rock Band (drums) and is a drummer. He looked at the (Don't Fear) the Reaper video/notechart and said he could easy do it. So he came here, got on expert. Started playing songs kept failing in the beginning and then coming up with excuses like "This song has absolutely no beat" even though he played several songs. Then here comes the worse part. He gets on EASY and starts to play (or trying) 2 different songs and REPEATEDLY failing in the very beginning of the song. Remember this is on Easy. Then he got mad and left... also just to let you know, I just got the game today and I'm a guitarist not a drummer. I can play just fine on Medium.

Dude, I've 4-starred every song I've played on Exper the first try. I'm not perfect at this game's drums by any means, but I should at least be able to hit single strokes when I try. These problems are the main reason why I can't just 5 star everything.

Here are some of the difficulties I've observed with my drums so far :
1. ) You can't hit drumrolls worth a crap, no matter how perfectly or softly you play. The pad registers once for every seven hits you make. I'm a real drummer, so I'm 100% positive that it isn't me sucking. (For example, the snare roll in "In Bloom" registered me as missing every note even though I played it beautifully. I tried time and time again in practice mode, still no go.)
2. ) During the freeform sections / big ending bonus, you whip out some blazingly fast single strokes or double strokes, but the pads can't keep up with your hands. The sound coming out of the speakers is that of a ******ed person fighting their way out of a dumpster. *DONK DUMPH DOMPH CRASH DOMPH* (In other words, for every 12 hits, only about three will register and they're randomly timed, and sound horrible)
3. ) In a hi-hat / snare rythm, your multiplier is lost for reasons unknown because your yellow pad decides to puss out and not register the hit.
4. ) Uhh...the bass pedal feels and plays nothing like a real bass drum pedal? The spring is too tense, and there is no "wobble" or feeling of throwing a beater at a bass drum. Hitting fast double strokes with your foot as seen in "Tom Sawyer" will be next to impossible. On a real bass drum pedal, easy as pie. This is not a defect...it's just a bucket '0' suck.
These are the only problems thus far. Hopefully, more do not develop. If you have similar problems, state the number of the problem. If you found a way to correct it, please elaborate. Be it the "medical tape" method, or another crude method, TELL IT. I don't want to send this game back, but if I have to then I will.
