All of these problems are so heart breaking. This is ridiculous and Its starting to anger me. HMX should have worked this stuff out.

Ran a search and didn't see anyone else post about the same problem, so here goes...

When I plug in my guitar, the green ring around the xbox logo (underneath the whammy bar) just keeps flashing. It's the same thing the standard 360 controller does when you first turn on the machine - like it's trying to assign itself to a controller port, except it just keeps flashing on the guitar. My drums and mic both work fine, and I've tried plugging the guitar into different ports, with and without hub. No luck.

Anyone else have the same problem/know how to fix it?

I had that problem one time. Figured out the break away part of the wiring was not connected fully. It was connected enough to power the guitar, but not to register the guitar with the system.

Unplug the breakaway part of the wiring and plug it back in tightly... it worked for me.

If it is one of the wireless guitars, make sure to hit the sync button on both the guitar and the system.

Don't knock Harmonix for stuff like this. The fact that this is the only thread of it's kind means that it's an isolated and very rare problem.

I said a while ago that, yeah using the search button is a good thing and smart to do, But there is a difference between bumping a 2 day old thread and a 2 month old thread... but its just stupid for it to be a 1 year old thread...
