Last night I got the chance to see Buckethead live. Going in, I had set very high expectations, and he exceeded them by far.

The high point of the night was when he played "Jordan" with full solos and everything. Live, the energy of the song is different. There was a big mosh pit and I got the chance to join in a bit. Later on, he started doing some R2D2 sound effects on his guitar (which were perfect) and then he played the Star Wars Theme, which got a huge reaction. His dancing in the middle of the set was also really cool.

If you have never seen him, check his dates and find out if he's playing near you. It was an amazing show and really rivals Maiden.

Glad you enjoyed it. I was gonna see try and get tickets (he comes to New Haven on the 7th), but I got tickets to The Australian Pink Floyd Show instead. Guess I'll just see him next year (or whenever he tours again). o_>

It seems like he tours nonstop. Somehow, his albums come out.

Haven't seem him solo but did see him while he was playing in Guns N' Roses. I was rather impressed with him that show. Really good playing, put his own spin on the old material and highly entertainig solo piece in the show. Good player.

Was supposed to see him over the summer, but I ended up having to go out of town when the show was. Where the heel do you find Buckethead's dates? I can't find them on his site or on ticketmaster...

I just saw that he was playing at a club near here. I didn't know his dates weren't up on his site.

They're not, that's why I was asking. It just so happened the club he was playing at my friend's dad knew the owner, which is how I heard about it.

Oh. You could always go on Last.fm and check his dates. I'm pretty sure that the entire tour is up on there from users going to the shows adding them.

I'm on the fence about seeing him on Thursday. I have several other shows planned this month, and I don't know if I can afford another $20 ticket (especially considering I'm all but positive I'm going to see Children of Bodom on Wednesday). Is it worth not eating for a couple days to see him?

Well, if you saw my thread about concert schedules in the General forum, you'd realize I abide in Philly (at least for now). ;)

I've heard he's great live. The Seattle show sold out last time he was here so I couldn't go. Next time he comes around I'm buying tickets beforehand for sure. If your debating whether to see him live or not, just look at some of his youtube vids. He's brilliant imo.

Uli Roth is probably my favorite guitarist there is, he does some amazing stuff. Live hes great but his vocals are starting to go a bit, if your used to his voice hes great but i suggest you get familiar with some of his songs first. Polar Nights is probably his best known that he sings on. Its not really about the vocals though, Sky Overture and all his other instrumentals are really over the top. One of the greatest living guitarists in the world passing him up would be a mistake.

I've seen Buckethead 3 times so far, first 2 times he was pretty good, I wouldn't say great but decent. Last months concert here though he stormed off the stage cause everyone kept yelling for Jordan. So the show lasted a whole 10 minutes tops...I'd never bother going again just isn't worth the cash to see him live.

proof of how gh gives bands the wrong kind of fans

though in dragonforce's case, probably the type of fans they want
