Hi. One of the cymbal holders on my Drum Rocker has an issue with tightening while having a cymbal and being on the bar. It can tighten and hold the cymbal in place fine when not on the bar, however, when on the bar, the knob to keep it firm on the arm will not tighten, leaving it loose and the knob keeps falling off. I do not have a problem with the other one, just that one, and I have tried alternating the knobs. Thanks, I hope to hear from you soon.

If I understand correctly the problem your having is probably caused by a short eye bolt.I read somewhere that you should replace the eye bolts on the cymbols because their too short. The bolts on my set are hanging out on the knob about 1/8 inch, but maybe you got one of the short eye bolts.
Both of mine busted when I took them apart to move them. It's like the last 1/4 inch of the screw gets stripped and just slides right thru the nut now.
It tightens fine when it's off the bar as you say because it's reaching down the screw farther than it would when it's on the bar.
I sent an email to Ion about 4 days ago but haven't heard a response yet.
i bought some 1/4 inch eye bolts that were 4 inches long today. had to bend the crap out of the round part to make it big enough to fit the cymbal stand. the end result works tho... and is great for 10 mins of work and $2 at the hardware store.
oh, and the new bolts were a thicker thread, so all I did was pop out the nut from the original screw on handle, and put the new nut in there as best i could... i should post a picture.
as you can see the new nut didn't fit in the old hole... but it's snug in between the two handles and works just as well
