I haven't watched MTV much lately because recently I kinda forgot MTV even existed or what channel it was on for a while for some reason
But anyway lately since I've remembered it exists and what channel it is I have occasionally tried to see whats on it again
So I change my TV to MTV for probably the 1st time in a few months and what I see is
A show with a guy and his wife and they are in a bed on stage in underwear / lingerie talking about sex and stuff with the audience so I'm like WTF? but I watched it anyway and then on the commercial break they showed a commercial for a 2nd show where kids discuss sex with their parents? and then the show comes back on and continues and all of that
Then another day I try putting it on MTV again and ITS THE SAME SHOW ON WTF?
Then I think just yesterday I tried putting it on MTV and it was a guy and his mom discussing relationships and both of them had made clay penises and they were holding them in their hands while they talked
So... WTF? When the hell did MTV turn into the freaking sex education channel?
I don't want to watch shows about stupid kids with clay penises talking about relationships with their moms , or a show with a fat guy in his underwear and his nappy haired wife giving relationship advice to random people
WTF happened to MTV?

I remember when MTV first came on the air. Was a much cooler time for TV.
Then somewhere along the lines, someone decided that music content was no longer what kids wanted to see.
MTV hasnt been MTV in quite a Loooong time as wiff said.
MTV is being very Un-Dude like. To quote another thread.

You're my friend...
But yes, MTV died a long time ago. I remember the days it provided quality programming like Beavis and Butthead. I'm not sure they even feature music anymore.

Yeah, except the great part.
There are only four MTV shows I can watch, three of which have already had their series finales: Rob And Big, Viva La Bam/Bam's Unholy Union(same thing, different name), Wildboyz, and Jackass. Possibly the stupidest shows on television, and yet they're the most interesting and intelligent shows on MTV. Me and this chick I hang out with are constantly debating about whether or not MTV worship is a sheeple thing.

No. MTV as a music channel = makes sense and is awesome
MTV as anything else = what the hell were they thinking?
Last I checked, it's Music Television. Watching Real World is not music, neither are any of the other ****ty reality shows they offered. What happened to Heavy Metal Mania, Beavis and Butthead, and all of the other awesome stuff they had?

What you talking about? MTV always taught me about sex.
Only difference is they use to do it with music videos.

Why watch MTV when you can simple browse the interwebs and watch the videos you want to see.
Here in Canada we have Much Music, once it started playing nothing but pop and rap it lost me as a viewer.

QFT.
I can remember watching hours of MTV as a kid, hoping to catch a Van Halen video - I didn't see many of those, but I did get exposed to lots of other stuff I might never have heard of back in those days. I used to love the old Headbanger's Ball.
MTV started going downhill once they started all that reality-TV dreck. Or maybe it was before then, maybe around the early 90s. I remember seeing TRL and realizing that MTV was dead.

That is totally not the point of MTV
If I put MTV on I expect to see reality TV like the real world or RW/RR challenge shows or something funny like rob and big or maybe a stupid dating show where the people are too picky and tell the person their on a date with to take a hike because they can't jump through 20 hoola hoops and swim through 50 gallons of chocolate pudding in under 30 seconds lol

LOL MTV has always had sex. I remember in the mid or late 90s they had Dr Drew and Adam (i forget his last name) sex show late at night to answer sex questions.
MTV died a looooooooooong time ago.
Sure did. I don't think it'll ever be the same.

Amen!! I would say early 90's is when it went belly up! Depending on your musical taste and whether your hormones are kicking in, it might be different for you!

and people wondered why, when MTV was hired to do the Halftime Show for the Superbowl, some years back, that Janet Jacksons breast appeared for a brief instant...
had none of the CBS execs ever WATCHED MTV? all you need to do is watch for 5 minutes and know it should be called The BONER NETWORK. kids come from home school "I'm gonna watch MTV" lock the door and put their goods right up on the set....
points to anyone if you can name whose creativity I just robbed.

I also remember when mtv2 pretty much only showed rock and metal, and off topic the channel Fuse used to only show rock and metal, now if they do show music its usaully r&b, rap, or pop
