RB2 chooses inaccessible songs during mystery setlists = game restarts in setlist

It appears that there's a bug that RB2 will choose songs that are unavailable to actually play during mystery setlists. The game should do an access check on the song BEFORE selecting it, instead of AFTER.

The situation that this happens is when I have friends come over to play, they re download some of their songs on my Xbox so that we can play them. Then if I try and play alone, it has a chance of selecting those songs again, and failing to load them, as no signed-in account has access to those songs.

Yeah, but I don't want to have to delete them. I'd like to be able to play them when those friends are over. I understand that if there's nobody that has access to it signed in then I can't play it. Why can't the game understand that too?

Because it doesn't. Was probably just never thought of to be an issue. Your options are to delete the songs and redownload them in the future, or buy them yourself.

May not be what you want, but unfortunately, that's how it works.

It may be something they look into in the future, but I wouldn't expect a rushed update for something like this.
