Generally dont hate your picks much. Yet its easier to pick a bunch of great tracks when you aren't negotiating with labels and bands over cash.

I try to keep it real :)

Like it a lot, especially because I don't have to look at each one in a seperate thread:D. I ocassionally look but there are too many. I pressed satisfied by accident. I meant to press extremely satisfied.:(

I think I've commented a couple times on indinvidual packs and setlists. Clearly you have some fantastic tracks in here.

I have these comments though:

For the first 6-7 months, your dlc rate is actually kinda slower now than what we're used to (what with the surge of dlc in the past few months that's expected to persist) so that would be kinda a slowdown.

A huge chunk of your list is also taken up by "Rock Band 3", and if you don't include that, "dlc" as a whole I'm not sure has as many tracks as we might expect.

Nonetheless, I would still be satisfied. You have Muse, Radiohead, Within Temptation, and Nightwish, so I'd be pretty good to go. I'd say if you added about 21 more tracks before September, this would be an extremely satisfying year!

You do an amazing job at picking stuff for everyone

The fact that I can read your lists and think "This is pretty good" and then at the same time I see other random people also posting positive things about it just shows that its diverse but never leaves anyone left out for too long

I voted "Satisfied" because if that was RBs real DLC I would be but pretty much the only way I would vote "Extremely satisfied" is if it was a list I made by myself so you basically get the highest realistically possible score from me for this list

They should hire you as RBs real DLC deciding person

That or seriously take some hints from you because you are much better at making DLC lists than RB is

I'm generally unsatisfied by the song selection. Not purely the genres/bands, but when the songs that are picked. From the artists I'm interested in you picked, you tended to pick songs that are way down on my desire list.

i picked "satisfied", though if you had an option in between it and "extremely satisfied" i would have picked it.

i also agree with mystlyfe77 that the song-selection sometimes confuses me, but that's just how the dice roll.
i certainly don't consider myself a good example of the typical consumer to be pandered towards. :)

yeah before September is a bit thin from what we're used to lately, and what I started again after RB3 came out... I did the count and it was around 460 songs all combined or so

perhaps I should beef up the pre-RB '09 stuff a bit more like Katzzz suggested and then make a new topic with more poll options?

:D I don't see as much love for that album around here as I do for London Calling and the self-titled but there are some awesome tracks on there I think

BTW,did you add Dreamtheater?!Did I miss it?

haha yeah that was a bit of a misstep

I actually didn't have any DT for ALL of '09

they appeared in my Guitar Performance Pack though that came out on 2/16/2010

I had/have a huge list of DT tracks to use but I just didn't for whatever reason, maybe when I add more to the pre-RB3 stuff I will put some in there :D

Yeah, I think I would be really surprised if we didn't get at least 500 dlc tracks next year. The rate/week has been going up all year.

I'm going to note a few places again where I would mix it up:

--"Bye Bye Beautiful" Nightwish
Could easily make a Nightwish pack; get some Tarja in there too. Wishmaster + Nemo for three pack.

--"Frozen" Within Temptation
Not the most rocking WT song... not bad, of course, but I would think "Stand My Ground" or "Ice Queen" would come first I think. Alternatively, make this a three pack.

--"Sweet Home Alabama" Lynyrd Skynyrd
<--very good pick

Singles
--"Papercut" Linkin Park
--"Given Up" Linkin Park
--"Don't Stop Believin'" Journey
--"Wheel In The Sky" Journey
<--Think maybe you should just make these two three-packs?

03.17.09
Bush 01
--"Machinehead"
--"Comedown"
--"The Chemical Between Us"
<--Good stuff

Metal 01
--"Cemetary Gates" Pantera
--"Breaking The Law" Judas Priest
<--two three packs instead I think.

Muse 01
--"Map Of The Problematique"
--"Time Is Running Out
--"Plug In Baby"
<--Very yes; if anything make this a six pack, throw on "Thoughts of a Dying Atheist," "Knights of Cydonia," and "Starlight". [hmm, where have I seen that six pack before?]

05.19.09
Singles
--"Empty Walls" Serj Tankian
<--Yes! lol...

05.26.09
U2 "The Joshua Tree" Full Album
<--you probably noticed this is the only full album I think we agreed on.

R.E.M. 01
--"Stand"
--"Losing My Religion"
--"Man-Sized Wreath"
<--I'm not completely sure I agree with "Stand" and "Man-Sized Wreath" here. Don't want to end up with another "The Collector".

David Bowie 02
--"Starman"
--"Young Americans"
--"Slow Burn"
<--I don't remember, do you include Ziggy somewhere else?

Singles
--"Loser" Beck
--"Sexx Laws" Beck
--"Sunshine Of Your Love" Cream
--"I Feel Free" Cream
<--Again, could probably make this two three packs.

"Somebody To Love" Jefferson Airplane
<--one of those songs I imagine HMX can't get the masters on or something, otherwise where is it?

"Mr. Self Destruct" Nine Inch Nails
<--I really want "The Downward Spiral" as full album dlc actually. The drums would be SO FUN.

"Special" Garbage
<--you should get "stupid girl" somewhere. That song is great.

"Gravemakers and Gunslingers" Coheed and Cambria
<--every time I see this I am reminded of how great a choice it is. HMX needs to get 'er done.

"Stockholm Syndrome" Muse
<--Very yes

"Vertigo" U2
<--Did you know that Trent Reznor once edited this song? I always preferred that version to the original, but it's so hard to find. Alas. Anyway, I suppose U2 fans would prefer the original anyway.

--"Within Me" Lacuna Coil
--"The Howling" Within Temptation
<--Very win.

Grunge 01
--"Jeremy" Pearl Jam
--"Dead And Bloated" Stone Temple Pilots
<--maybe "Plush" instead?

09.22.09
Metal 02
--"Victim Of Changes" Judas Priest
--"Symphony Of Destruction" Megadeth
--"4 Words (To Choke Upon)" Bullet For My Valentine
<--I think you should maybe move these songs around, get a JP pack, a Megadeth pack, and maybe a BfmV pack.

10.20.09
Singles
--"Life On Mars?" David Bowie*
--"You Could Be Mine" Guns N' Roses
--"Friday, I'm In Love" The Cure
--"#1 Crush" Garbage
--"Join Me In Death" H.I.M.
<--I think this is actually one of the best examples of a well constructed group of singles. However, why is Bowie a cover? We've had Bowie masters, I think.

11.10.09
Drum Performance 01
--"A Quick One, While He's Away" The Who
--"By-Tor And The Snow Dog" Rush
--"War Ensemble" Slayer
--"Wish" Nine Inch Nails
--"Ticks And Leeches" Tool
--"Assassin" Muse
Singles
--"Heart Of Glass" Blondie
<--another one of my favorite weeks. Just very well thematically constructed.

11.24.09
AC/DC "Highway To Hell" Full Album
Pop Princess 02

<--Katy Perry + AC/DC? Sorry, that cracks me up, even though you know it would go well. The Jimmy Buffet/Disturbed week did do well.

As I've said, you have some fantastic skills at combining singles and making well-organized theme packs.

I think you could add in 2-3 more albums early on, and add in as I mentioned like another 24 singles, and this would be really great. Hope this helps!

thanks for the help :D

a few of those things I have reasons for, like the weeks with 2 singles from bands

in most of those cases I'm taking artists that were on RB2 or were coming up on RB3 with one song and putting out two others like HMX was doing there for a bit before RB2

Nightwish and WT in the Roadrunner pack was to get some ladies in there, although more from those bands could be added as well elsewhere

I'll work on it and repost this later :)

Nice list... although I'd add "Washington is Next!" to the Roadrunner 02 pack... incredible song.

HMX should hire you to plan their DLC

Well, I think it's really a good list.

I absolutly miss OK Computer full album there and more The Cure, but you have a lot that makes me happy. (Snow Patrol, yay!)

Too bad you choose the worst Bloc Party songs. I can live with Helicopter, but the Prayer? Would definitely change that for something like Positive Tension. (Would also change Helicopter for She's Hearing Voices but well)

But OK Computer is a must! More Radiohead overall please! ;)

Really good list, however one thing jumped out at me, right from the start...

Where is Still Remains in your Roadrunner pack?

I usually have some semi-sarcastic criticism for any list like this, especially big ones.

But this time, I have to say that you have managed to achieve perfect balance between lots of different genres. Congrats.

Edit: I would pick some different songs from some of the artists. But at least they are represented, which is more than I can say for most lists.

i like your Muse Selections but,
Only One Radiohead song, Bodysnatchers and it doesn't even come out until next year. (according to you)

well it doesn't list it here but in my other list of stuff up until the end of '08 I had Nude coming in the 20 free songs

but this is the second call for more Radiohead, so I think that's a good sign for me to add more :p
