I was trying to play World Tour with a friend over Xbox Live and had my headset plugged into my guitar but my friends voice still came through my speakers, and totally ruined our fun. There was bad lag, and he could hear himself back through my headset, so neither of us wanted to talk. I was band leader, I don't know if that had anything to do with it. I tried another headset I have, and I tried another wireless guitar, and even a wired guitar, but the issue persisted. I just want to hear their voices in my headset, not through my speakers. Can anyone help?

if you press the "x" button and come to the menu if you go to option or something (dont have xbox with me ) theres a speaker option which you select for how you want to hear other people chat, either through your headset, the tv, or both

If you're using the old style headset and the adapter that came with the guitars, then shove the adapter on to the plug hard until it slips on all the way.
If you've already done that, or if you're using the new style headset that plugs directly into the guitar, then take aznman's advice. Hit your Xbox button, go to personal settings, then voice, then pick the option for headset only.

There is a setting in the Xbox 360 dashboard which tells the console whether to play the voice chat feedback through the speakers or headset.
