I need to know if you guys have any tips for playing the drums. On the demo in my Wal Mart store on PS3, I was able to play all songs on hard, even a few on expert getting 98%. Here however, im getting like 60-70% on easy. Its not the foot peddle that is throwing me off either, its just keeping a steady beat. It seems like if I hit the pad before the note gets there, it registers, but if i hit it as the note gets there I miss it. Has anyone else noticed a major difference in the Demos, and the actual game?

Have you done the lag calibration? My timing was a little off until i calibrated... it's much better now.

Hmm, it sounds like you just need to train your mind to lock into the beat, instead of depending on watching the gems for timing. By internalizing that drum beat, you should be better able to play on time, which I think is what's causing your problems, since guitar and bass work. Just keep plugging away, and let us know what you find.

cool. Thanks guys. I got one more set list for the Solo Guitar, then im gonna hop back on the drums and give it another shot. When i play, I dont react to what I see in most cases, I play to the beat of the song. For example, in "Dani California" the pattern for the most part, 1,1,2,1,1,2,1,1,2. Something simple. If I play it on PS3 at Wal Mart, ill roll through it with no problems. Get home and get on my 360, and if i get it started, its like 1,1,2,1, CLANG CLANG CLANG! thats when i started playing with my eyes, because i couldnt believe that I was missing the taps in a steady part like that, and it just seemed that If I hit it late, then it registered. Well Im gonna go back and finish up, and give it another shot. Thanks for the advice, guys. Ill keep you updated

I tried it a couple of times. I used the preset for Plasma TV (what I Have), and it was the same. I tried calibrating it manually, but it didnt seem to do much good for me either. Then after reading it says that it adjusts the timing from what u hear, to what you see.. The problem im getting is that, I play what i see on the screen, and it just seems off. Guitar and Bass are perfect though. haha
If guitar and bass are working perfectly, you just need drum practice.

I have had some issues with that. Tried calibrate but when I did that, tried it auto and manual, but still had issues cause I was now missing notes on guitar. I found you have to just push the beat. I know split second more to (not sure drum terms), but to actually hit each note with drum stick due to arm movement compared to strumming. I would just say try to stay on the front of the beat, otherwise you will be clang clanging. I just wish figure out a way to dampen the sound a little bit more and I won't buy the practice drum sticks that someone suggested earlier.

Yes, do teh calibration. After that, my advice is to look ahead on the "fretboard" (WTF can we call this for the drums, BTW?) and feel the music rather than try to react.
Playing guitar, you can react to the fretboard. Drumming on the other hand, I think a bit of memorization is required, as well as an overall better knowledge of the song.
