Yeah I was thinking something completely out of left field but requested.
I want to request a song, but I wasn't sure whether or not to argue my case strongly or just throw the name out and hope.

Yes, a number of bands that I love, really off-the-wall stuff that I would have never expected to hit Rock Band in a million years, were featured over time. The Monkees, the B-52s, and Jonathan Coulton, mostly but I'm sure there are others.

I'm not a big requester, so needless to say I was happy when both any SOAD song and Snow were announced. I'm not so happy that (1) none of the SOAD songs released are my #1 choice of Hypnotize (C'mon, Harmonix!) and (2) Snow was waay harder than I thought it would be on Guitar. I don't like having to play a song on Medium, you know.

I've had a lot filled. Probably the biggest for me were Colony of Birchman since it made it to the disc and I requested it so many times, but I also had some longshots like The Perfect Drug and Burn (since they were from soundtracks I felt there was no chance).

I didn't put together a wish list (rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77193) until after the Rock Band 2 track list was confirmed, so I can't really count those.

As for the songs I did ask for, this week I was able to cross two off the list! Thanks, Harmonix!

It's hard to tell if the songs I wanted were directly from the "Request a Song" link or just from the forums in general. I have heavily requested The Offspring, and sure enough, here they are. Although I did request songs like "Kids Aren't Alright" and "Want You Bad" and did not request "Gone Away". There have been other artists/songs I have requested, but many I have repeatedly asked for in all forms through this website and haven't gotten (Cake, Green Day).

I'm sure requesting and posting about songs/bands helps, but in the long run there are thousands of bands with hundreds of thousands of songs, and HMX can only do so much. :)
