Hey all- First off, I want to say that the game is *sweet*! No issues with guitar, drums, hub, whatever. Personally I like the guitar much more than my 360 explorer. Much more sensitive, much more control (IMHO), and if it does break I'm one of the lucky ones that can fix it myself (I know- not the point). I feel for you all who can't do that.

Now, someone please confirm that I'm not (or I am) nuts here- It seems like most of the songs I have played so far in the game are shorter than the original tracks. Some, like Gimme Shelter are much much shorter.

I'm not whining about it, but I thought I was going nuts last night every time a song would end. Aside from that, we are enjoying the hell out of the game!

Nice job HMX :D

I think the Gimme Shelter cover might have been recorded at a slightly higher tempo, which would cause it to get done sooner. Sharp ears! I honestly hadn't noticed.

Edit: wait, not a cover. Forget what I just said ;)

"Won't Get Fooled Again" still has the really long keyboard breaks which leaves everyone in the band standing around waiting for the them to end. If they were going to trim the master tracks, that would have been a good place to start! :)

Also - not to make light (since I'm a gamer dad, too), but I flashed on me asking my daughter when she's older why she plays video games all the time and it turned into that old Public Service ad: "I LEARNED FROM WATCHING YOU, OKAY?!?!? I LEARNED FROM WATCHING YOU!"

I am unfamiliar with Gimmie Shelter, but when I sang Black Hole Sun, I believe I said "wont you come?" about 50 bajilion times at the end of it, so I know they didn't cut it short.

Possible that you are used to a different version of Gimmie Shelter?

it was intentional, breaks like that give you teh same feeling of wtaching some control the song while you rest. They said specifically it lets the band members converse while still playing in the game. this is a big staple of game making. Remeber breakut. You'd have intense times of play and then sometimes teh game would take over when the ball would get stuck above the wall. your out of control the game but still playing.

Anything is possible. Right after my bundle was delivered by the UPS Snail, my youngest kiddo dropped one of those "not doing well in school" bombs on me and kinda trashed my night, so my mind wasn't in it.

Either that or I was actually concentrating hard enough that the song was over before I knew it :)

yeah, gimme shelter is the only song i have noticed. its a good thing though. And damn that is one hard song to sing.

Heh! Man I didnt even attempt that song on vocals. Since I spent some time in my bedroom venting frustration using words that look like "****" here, my voice was so jacked up I barely made it thru Wanted Dead Or Alive on easy. Ok, I got 93% but it reminded me of Rosanne Barr singing the national anthem :p

Heh if it was a son, I would have a lil different way of dealing, but alas- she's a 9 yr old girl.

Oh and WTF is with this forum time warp going on? I can't keep track of who said what when!!!
