Public Service Announcement:
I am "into" media rooms, home theater, game rooms... whatever you want to call it. I'm posting up a bunch of pics to disply my basement media room. 56k=pw3ned. I'm guessing there are many guys here, who are also interesting in media rooms. If you're not one of them, this isn't the thread for you.

Basement system:

I worked hard to get the most out of the limited space.
2/3 of the room is comprised of the a/v gear and six recliners including a 10” riser.
The other 1/3 contains a poker table with comfy leather chairs, a small bar, stools, fridge, mega touch, etc.

Maybe I'll try a lil stool. Prolly easier?

Hercules Stands GSP39WB Wallmount Guitar Hanger - Short

I was getting tired of my friends leaning the guitars on the wall after "playtime". The guitars would always slide, fall, and hit my speaker or subwoofer. It was also a pita when I wanted to vacuum. I had to move the guitars and the 10' of cables between the two. So I sucked it up, went to www.guitarcenter.com and found the solution.

The model that I liked best online, wasn't in the actual stores. It was only available online. That said, since I'm a man, I needed my guitar wallmount hanger right NOW. So I drove down and purchased a different model. I like this one better b/c it has a swivel. It's cool for mounting guitars on an angle, something I may want to do down the line.

Also, when asked what guitar you had, you could have said "It's a custom one, so I need an adjustable stand"

I approve of the wallmount guitar racks, very clean. It sounds preppy to get stands but for some $12-20 per it's not hugely expensive and more necessary than people will admit. I might suggest some velcro tape to keep the cords under control between playing, a nice bundle velcro-taped to the whammy keeps it neat, reusuable, and out of the way.

Makes you wish they would have designed the guitar with a disconnectable plug on the face of the guitar, huh?

Velcro tape is some 1" wide velcro with the A side on one side and the B side on the other. Cheap and wonderful stuff for bundling cords when you are going to bundle/un-bundle them a lot.

Also while your seat for the drummer looks comfy it's totally not rock! Get a throne! :p Oh wait I see your odd kinda stool there at the end.

Wangsandsuch, your sig is rather ghastly. Use this:

I use a 'String Swing' for my 'fo-realz' bass guitar (I know, I know, real guitar is for old people), and I usually just toss my RB instruments somewhere (the guitar fits nicely between my dresser and entertainment cabinet).

not exactly bro. I post a lot of pics b/c I like helping people. I'm on a lot of forums, home theater, photography, dj forums etc. Typically someone has a question b/c of something they saw in 1 of the pics I've posted.

Sometimes, I learn from pics I see on forums.

Not to mention the bundle of cords on the ground in between the 360 and the "instruments". Now I see this lol. I love the cinema seating, seriously. On the flip side, home theatre isn't home theatre without a projector if you ask me.

I use the Epson EMP-TW1000: http://www.epson.com.au/products/projector/emptw1000.asp

It's not one of the super-expensive models, or anything like that, but it does output 1080p, which makes it great for hddvd & bluray. There's nothing quite like watching those Rock Band notes coming at you on a 95inch screen, either.

I'd post pics of my setup, but cause I'm renting, it doesn't actually look all that impressive cause I can't really mod the place. Hopefully, someday, I'll have my own joint. Then I'll show the world what home theatre is all about :)

If you got it at CC, you paid 1/4, and got 1/4 of what he's got. lol

Paradigms are not slouch speakers, and you definitely won't be finding them at CC.

But I doubt this was intended to be a pizzing contest, so let's not make it one.

Unfortunately, a lot of those children are out of the "child" age-range (aka, adults who should know better).

Chill out!

They're right, the massive amount of pics is getting a bit much, I mean, its one room.

Have you seen 1408? :p

Hey DJ, you have a very nice setup, the only thing i saw was u may want to move the Wii from the top of the 360, there may be a problem with heat. Also, the Flyers are doin great this year. Briere seems like he fit in. We Buffalo fans miss him and Drury. Oh well, good thing i like the Flyers too, I have liked them ever since they had Keith Primeau as captain.

Hey DJiiiii,

Can you tell me a little about the lights on the baseboards? What type are they, installation, where to buy, other options you may have looked into ??

This would be a great addition to my cinema room.

Thanks

Thanks for your post. You're def right. Projector ftw! One day!

Yeah I was going to say, no offense but your TV is small :P

I have a panasonic pt-ae900u lcd projector I bought a year ago for $1400 after rebates and I just project it onto a freshly painted white wall. At 10.5 feet wide the picture looks fantastic. I can't imagine sitting as far back as that second row of seats and looking at a postcard sized image.

The aesthetics and everything else are excellent tho. Time to upgrade to projection tho. Watch the deals you can get one a hella lot cheaper than a large plasma..

great, I used to date a girl in b-low. I have their 3rd jersey from years back, the red one, with 93 gilmour on it. danny is not playing up to his potential. he seems to hide out for an entire game. he needs to make moves, and go 1 on 1, 1 on 2, and make it happen.

anyway. thanks. and what exactly is the issue. xbox will get too hot, if the wii is on top? or wii will get hot? I don't think there are vents being blocked on either unit. and obviously they won't both be running at the same time. please let me know though, what you are thinking. thanks dude!

haha, I hear ya. it was a tough call.

It's just rope lighting. very solid, hard rubber, so it just forms to the corners and stays! home depot will have it, or lowes. measure how much you need, b/c it's sold in various lengths. put it on a dimmer plug, so u can turn it down during movies and gaming, nice touch.

Thanks dude. the seating is set back to allow space up front for gaming. plus I want to get a projector sometime late winter or early spring. I'm looking into an Epson Home Cinema 1080 Home Theater Projector and a 92" framed screen. Any pics from your theater set-up?

Haha, I use the same chair for my drums. I also have that table-mate and tried it with a steering wheel but it just isn't stable enough to handle intense driving. Nonetheless, a very nice setup you got there!

thanks. what did u decide to use for the steering wheel then? when I have aggressive drivers over;)... I put some weights on the legs or behind them. you're right, it's a little light.

NBSteeler, how come your dog isn't black and gold?! That would totally complete your room :)

I think you can also get a Steelers faceplate for your 360 (http://cgi.ebay.ca/Xbox-360-NFL-FACEPLATE-All-32-Teams-Football-NEW_W0QQitemZ260201576208QQihZ016QQcategoryZ122517 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Yeah, i don't e-bay much anymore after getting ripped off a few times, and I can never find an online merchant who has them in stock. Rest assured, I have tried to get one.

As far as the dog, he's gold... And can get pretty black after rolling around in the dirt for a while. He IS named Bettis, though...lol

I've purchased some 360 games and a wireless network adaptor for the 360 from this particular seller on several occasions and they're great. If you don't want to eBay I think you can find some sort of adhesive faceplate that you can print on, you could design your own Steelers faceplate too! That'd be neat.

Your dog's name is Bettis? Okay, you win! Haha!

I've got a 65" Mitsibishi DLP, Yamaha rx-v1700 (working on getting rx-v1800), Toshiba XA2 hd-dvd player, Directv HD-DVR, and PS3. I've got 7.1 hooked up and playing Rock Band the surround sound is awesome! Everything hooked up with HDMI. My wife plays drums and I do guitar. On solo career I've tried everything.
