So.... I go in yesterday to pick up my already paid off RockBand copy for the 360 and they said that they didn't have it! I was like stop BSing me and go get my copy. Well, the manager said that they accidentally sold too many pre-orders and mine was that extra one. I think that this is crap. So, I go home and I find the Gamestop customer service number. I told them about my experience and they sent a report the the District Manager near my location. Well..... 2 hours later I get a call from THE Disctrict manager himself. He said that it was the managers mistake and that they would "Try" to find one for me today.... it's 09:40 right now and still no call. I know for a fact that they open up at 9 am. So...... I'm just sitting here... kind of pissed off that I paid for a game (pre-ordered) none the less (183 dollars!) and I still don't have my game....................

you should pull your preorder and go to best buy. They have plenty nation wide. Even if you didnt preorder cash, you should talk to the DM and demand they give it to you and that it is horrible business taking your preorder and not guaranteeing you a copy. He will do it if you are persistant enough.

Remind the District Manager that it is against GameStop policy for them to not have a copy for you. Regardless that it was a mistake, their agreement with you was that you would have a bundle held for 48 hours after release. It's THEIR responsibility to get you one.
In the mean time, I would try to find a copy elsewhere. If you do, pull your pre-order (preferably from the same employee you pre-ordered from) and watch GS squirm as they give you your money back (make sure they don't try to give you in-store credit). See if you can at least milk some other bonus from it.

And if they do try to give you store credit, shoot 'em in the knee cap.

Here's mine:
I pre-ordered the day they confirmed the release date, so atleast a month ago. I pre-ordered a PS3 bundle, paid in full. I go in afterwork on the 20th around 4pm to pick it up. I hand the guy my receipt, say I'm here for my PS3 bundle of RB. He types something off the receipt into the computer, and asks me if I mean the 360 bundle. I say, wtf, PS3, probably in a more polite fashion than that, but it was what I was thinking.
SO yah, the bastard who originally took my pre-order rang it up as a 360 bundle instead of a PS3 one. I know i didn't screw up asking for it, as I don't own a 360, and my wife was with me as well, it was made clear that I needed a PS3 bundle reserved. So, obviously they had nothing for me, so i ran next door to a Walmart and they had 1 PS3 bundle left in the back still, so i got it and got refunded for my $183 at Gamestop. So F them.

Sorry to hear that... the same thing happened (sort of) for me at my GameStop. I stopped in after work to pick up my pre-order and they all sort of started darting around trying to figure out what happened. Turned out they accidentally sold my PS3 version to someone needing a 360 version. They then in turn exchanged their wrong PS3 copy in to a different GameStop for a 360 copy. That GameStop then sold the PS3 version to someone else.
Long story short, they were very apologetic and the clerk even went so far as to running over to Best Buy, finding a copy there, buying it, returning it to their store, and then handing it to me.
Hopefully this hasn't plagued too many folks, though. I've been fairly satisfied with GameStop in the past.

Ok, so I called the DM's cell phone that he gave me last night 2 times already this morning and still no answer! i'm getting soooo angry.. *patience.... it's just a game* *just a game! this is rockband!* *doesn't matter don't lose your temper* *I'LL SHOW YOU TEMPER* *EXPLODES*
quick edit: 10:50 am
The local store manager called me and said that they found a copy for me and that I can come pick it up this afternoon. Which works out because I get out of work in 4 hours. so hopefully it'll be there by then
I wish I had something positive to say about Gamestop, but I don't. They're just terrible. I ordered a bundle online in early October, only to have that order "canceled" - by Gamestop.com - for no discernible reason (they later claimed my billing info did not match up to my credit card, which is absolutely not true based on my receipt).
Anyway, long story short, I grabbed a 360 bundle from Target yesterday in the morning, but it really irked me.
