The filter is censoring the first three letters of where I'm at. In my profile I have "Japan" listed, but it only comes out to "***an". I don't know how else you would like me to describe my location without using the name of the country.

You could say Nihon. Or 日本.

I could, but that wouldn't really explain it to people who don't know the language. I just don't see why they let the name of a major country get caught in the profanity filter.

Because "Jap" is a derogatory term for, you guessed it, Japanese.

Well, obviously, but the name of the country is "Japan". You kinda need those three letters in that order to complete the word.

I'm guessing since the game isn't out in Japan yet, that this was an oversight on our part. I will mention this and hopefully have it looked at soon.

Thank you for the reply and I'm sorry for creating the other thread. This one just wasn't found this morning for some reason or another. I also apologize for the sarcastic tone of the other thread as I frequent another forum that constantly deletes members posts for no reason and I jumped to conclusions here.

Actually...I was having issues with censors too. I cant recommend The Nightwatchman as a band I want to see in the game with it censoring the middle (I know why, its just obnoxious). Im trying Tom Morello, I really am!

Sorry for double posting...but I just noticed it only censors in a (or my) profile...thats odd.

Yeah, Japan only seems to get censored in the profile too. Actually it was displayed until I updated my profile after the website change. Then it got starred out.

The "t" "w" "a" "t" being filtered from NightWatchMen is comical. LOL
Wow...that's crazy! Thanks for jumping on this, Colby.

Here's one: when I first started Rock Band 2, I named my band "Gensokyo". It told me it had to be censored in the leaderboards.
I tried googling various strings, but could not for the life of me figure out what letter combination could possibly be setting off the word filter. Gensok? Enso? Ensok? No clue. Best I can think of is that it's some little-known derogatory racial term. Of who, I have no idea.

I couldn't find anything at the http://www.rsdb.com. Not sure what racial slur it could be if it was one.
All I found is that its a video game.

That's a different issue, though. That stuff online is all done by Microsoft, not HMX. The whole "your name is not classy" thing is what I'm referring to.
