Instrument help!!!

Ok so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here, but for some reason the only thing it wants to let me do is vocals. I even reset my 360 with only the drums or guitar plugged in and when i try to do anything it just says that a mic isn't plugged in and backs me out. I'm starting to get really frustrated. Any help would be much appreciated.

Are the XBox buttons on the guitar and/or drums lighting up when you plug them in?

If you are navigating with a standard controller it will think you are a vocalist. To play one of the instruments you need to navigate the menus with that instrument.

Yeah the lights are on. I'll try to disconnect my regular controller to see if that works.

I have to unplug my USB hub and plug it back in every time I turn on my 360 for my instruments to be rocognized--that might help.

Alright, I disconnected my controller and that worked. I dunno why I didnt just think of that but thanks alot for your help.
