PS3 Stratocaster Downstrum Issue!

I've been having problems with my downstrum on my stratocaster. The upstrum works perfectly, and I can FC songs using only that, but as soon as I try to downstrum, it works half the time at best. It seems that some of the time that it does work, it reads it as a double strum, so I can hit the note, but then immediately it kills my combo.

I want to know if this is a hardware issue and I can get a replacement, or if it is a software problem, and a patch for the PS3 will be coming out soon!

I am having the same exact issue with my xbox 360 fender. It doesn't seem to be software, since my les paul from gh3 works fine. I tried and my brother-in-law tried for an hour to get it to respond. It's mushy and works maybe have the notes. The up strum is good.

Ok, so it's cross platform. Anyone know if there has been any OFFICIAL statement about the downstrum for EITHER system?

I've been browsing the forums for the past few hours, yes, but I can't find much related to the downstrum issue, and if I have found any, it seems much more oriented towards the xbox 360. Care to point me to a thread talking about this that's got some attention?
