These days, most people you talk to have pretty diverse musical taste. But everyone has one genre they are a total sucker for. What's yours?

Not really a genre, but Spanish language rock. I try to keep up on the scenes in different countries, which can be extremely hard due to the fact that in most Latin American countries rock does not get much support. If you think it's hard starting a local band here, imagine in a country that does not even consider rock to be a significant genre of music.
Other than that, I listen to mostly indie rock, alternative, punk, new wave and post punk. Also some electronic and dance music. I also love the blues and rockabilly.

Prog rock has actually been on fire for me, as of late, but I'll always be a sucker for the New Wave of British Heavy Metal.
And grunge. "Nearly Lost You" was my favorite song of this past week's DLC, if that tells you anything.

I'm a total sucker for Grunge, even though it's not my FAVORITE genre :p
I also happen to like almost anything labeled Industrial Metal.

I know, technically, a band, is not a genre, but feed me just about anything from NIN and I'm a happy man.
Asking for a specific genre, though, I can't really help with, to me, it all falls under the broader umbrella of "rock." I can't name the differences between Death Metal, Black Metal, grindcore, Heavy Metal, nu-metal, prog, etc. etc. I just know that I like what I like when I hear it, I don't bother with trying to label it.

Me, I'm a sucker for grunge/early 90s alternative. That was really the era where I developed my taste in music and I'll always crack a huge grin when I hear a song I haven't heard in forever.

Alternative Country music like Drive By Trucker, Old 97's, Whiskeytown(Ryan Admas). I just love this music and while it's labeled country it's very Rock and Roll.

I'm a chump for Prog Rock, be it Genesis, Goblin, ELP, King Crimson, Yes, or Gentle Giant.

Eletronica. Which is weird because I hate techno XD
But you put a good singer (a la Kenna, Blaqk Audio or half of The Prize Fighter Inferno) in front of synthesizers and keyboards and I'm in.
Apparently Muse's new CD is going to have an electronic vibe, and I'm stoked :D

Quite a bit of my Music can fit under (with a little stretching) the umbrella of Post-Punk.

Frankly, I don't really have any specific genres I like more than others, just bands.
But at gunpoint I'd probably say alternative.

Alternative isn't a 'real' genre. It is far too all-encompassing to count. The subdivisions of it are so different it is ridiculous. Compare post-hardcore to shoegazing, or Pop-punk to post-rock.

That's exactly my point. I could never choose a specific genre, so I just go to the umbrella term of alternative.
If I did choose a certain genre, I'd have to decide between prog and post-punk. Both are equally awesome.
