This is about the languages. Not the people or cultures, but language.

Which would you prefer to speak?

I choose French, it's more fun and you get to say stuff while talking funny.

If so, then why do I know more French in half a year of than I learned Spanish in... About 6 or 7 years of it?

Aragha=/=slow.....

Probably made it what you meant to do...

But most people in my class agree that they've learned more. And if I did not fix it correctly how could I be slow if I've already learned some French?

The way your instructor teaches you to memorize the language has a lot to do with it.

Well, true... French teachers are happier and do fun activities to help you remember! So, speaking French must make them feel happy!

There, that works.

No. My Spanish teacher is completely backwards. She taught us entire sentences the first day of class, but she didn't explain why the sentences were structured like that. We have no idea how to structure sentences with the individual words we know (she has us memorize basic sentences such as "Puedo ir al bano" and tengo una pregunta" but other than that, we only know some random words). However the French teacher takes baby steps.

I used a translator to understand girlie-man Aragha's (I kid the Aragha!) French, but the Spanish is all me (though I did run them through a Spanish-to-English translator to make sure since, as I said, I'm rusty).

Also...

They're both nothing more than bastardized Latin, the language of emperors... but I'd have to say I'd rather speak Spanish than French, simply because it's much more useful in modern times. I never cared enough to actually learn Spanish, though, and my French is rather rusty because I haven't used it much since high school (I took it for six years in HS, though, so it's still pretty decent).

I choose spanish. Here in America, speaking Spanish is infinitely more useful than speaking French. Especially where I live.

My french class was so awesome. We were her last french class ever since our school dropped it due to limited funding. She brought us in three cakes, and we watched movies and listened to french music for the last 9 weeks. She cried a little bit.

Good god I miss that class.

And I'll never forget the day that she taught us mufle.

German and all other Germanic languages are so awesome that they refuse to be anywhere near poncy Romanic languages like Spanish or French. ;) :D

I'm french, and I actually didn't understand a word you said there.

If I translate you text back to english, it reads so :

Sgt Pepper eats dirty underwears. Also, when he that the youngs of his mother (who thinks he's a "child") told him he should tie his shoes, he's tied together with a rope...

Even though it looses some comic effect since your sentences structures are derived from english, which obviously makes sense in english but is quite hilarious in french

French due to my years studying the language in school. I also really enjoy the culture in Quebec (closest I can get to a French-speaking nation), even though I get the impression that other Canadians aren't as big of fans.

French. I'm biased since I took it for three years and have never taken Spanish.

Chinese dominates both, though. Wo yao jiaozi.
