Okay, so i attach the adapter to my headset and plug that into the drums and nothing. I can't hear or talk, is there a reason for this am I doing something wrong? Is anyone else having this problem?? I love the game, just would like to be able to chat with friends while playing, or sing a little back up lol

I'm having the same, or similar, problem. Actually two problems:
1. Voice chat online doesn't work (or only in the xbox live private chat room). So, I can't discuss which song to play next, etc... Interestingly, it does work with a friend's wireless headset, but not when a wired one is plugged in (to either the drums, controller, or guitar). In fact, plugging the wired headset into the drums results in tons of static/feedback.
2. Vocals from the mic are not sent out to the other xbox on live. So the remote xbox can't hear the vocalist at all (just the pre-recorded vocal track).

I'm seeing these problems as well. I've had no luck with getting the headset to work with the drum set or the guitar. I tried plugging the adapter in between the headset and an actual wireless controller with no luck. These are all true in-game and in private chat. I've also tried turning the Xbox off and only plugging in one instrument, making sure the headset is plugged in securely, and then powering up the Xbox with the instrument. No dice.
I played with a buddy via Live last night who was joined as a vocalist. I barely heard him at all while we played... when I did hear him, it was mostly static.

My brother and I both own copies, and we have issues with the voice chat. Private and in game don't work. In some instances, there is major echo, static when speaking, or I can only hear him through the TV and not the headset, and he can't hear me. He also has those same problems sometimes. Voice chat works with a regular controller however. I also tried using 2 different headsets, neither worked. We both have Open NATs
