I believe since Z they've been distributed by Sony, which would automatically make them 'not indie'.

Stylistically, of course, is a completely different story.

ok...i would agree under a strict interpretation of the word "indie," as in attached to an independent label, that they would not be considered an indie band.

however, when i think of "indie" bands i guess i usually mix the above definition with popularity and as you stated, style.

nevertheless...they should be in the game!

can you imagine melting virtual faces with "One Big Holiday"!!!

p.s. - It Still Moves was their label major debut on ATO Records (founded by Dave Matthews), which is a subsidiary to Sony, i believe.

hell yeah i saw them two years ago for the first time and they opened with one big holiday and i was so close their frontman(i am drawing a blank on his name) he is so ****ing good he had a 10 min solo that night it was sick

I agree. One Big Holiday would be a fantastic addition to the setlist. I grinned when I heard it on House a couple of weeks ago.

I honestly would hope that if they released some MMJ, that it would be stuff off of Okonokos. They're certainly at their best live, and the versions of Off the Record, One Big Holiday and It Beats 4 U are better than the album cuts.

Yea definately MMJ and more indie bands. the other day i was thinking Cursive, check them out. to be honest, i havent heard too much MMJ, just Z and other assorted tracks, but they would be fun to play.

Indie is mainstream now so it really isn't indie rock anymore since these bands are on major labels mostly now. Indie is the new alternative kind of like how alternative took over the 90's. Indie is doing the same today!
I remember indie rock back in early 2000's that was real indie because bands were on there labels or smaller labels.

I would like to see an indie pack of sorts for rockband though!

i know what u're saying, and i actually agree with u to some extent, but MMJ is still on an indie label, ATO. granted, its 1 of the biggest indie labels, which kinda seems like an oxymoron, but in this case its actually appropriate. ATO was started up independently by Dave Matthews and a few other musicians and is not affiliated with any of the major record labels. some of their other artists are:

My Morning Jacket are great. I got into them recently when I went to the "Hop Farm Festival" here in England, they were one of the bands that played. I love them now and want them in the game - I'd have to say One Big Holiday is the one I want.

"One Big Holiday" would be the one I would choose for the single, ive used this song to get countless friends into this band, always positive responses.

I'm Amazed

This would give a good sampling of their last 3 albums (even though i still consider "At Dawn" their best).

no to I'm Amazed. replace that with Anytime, Run Thru, Lowdown, Mahgeeta, Lay Low, Touch Me pt.1, Evil Urges, Aluminum Park, or Remnants and we got a deal!

imagine if they did somthing like they're doing with AC/DC Live at Donnington with MMJ. they could release all of Okonokos as a dlc full album. that would be freaking INCREDible.

That would be EPIC. We need MMJ DLC bad. I still can't believe no MMJ, KOL or Bloc Party in RB yet. Every announcement just makes me so frustrated. I'm done with DLC until Nothing's Shocking comes out.

So agreed. Maybe swap Gideon for What a Wonderful Man. Or the Okonokos Xmas Curtain, it's a lot faster...
It's a shame there are so many bands that are "perfect" for Rock Band like MMJ that haven't gotten DLC.

Off the Record might be put on because it's their most popular, but they have so many songs better suited for RB :)

I saw them on New Years Eve, blew my mind, one of, if not the best show i've ever been to.
