So, Konami has now joined the scene with their own game "Rock Revolution." Some of these songs aren't too bad...but they are all covers. The game is $50 and comes out 10/14. I was thinking about buying this...maybe. I was just curious to see if anyone else was going to do the same.

Wha? Rock Band Revolution?

Yeah, Rock Band 2 is very cool. =)

they have a few quality hair metal tunes (despite being covers) i'd love to see in rock band, but the game itself looks embarrassingly bad.

Nah...it's not getting my money. As afterstasis said, the game looks terrible. Plus have you seen the periphs? The drumkit is baffeling.

The drums look confusing as heck. They don't do the bass pedal as a line, like Rock Band and Guitar Hero World Tour. It has its own area where notes will scroll down for it. There's also all of those different pad sizes and shapes and not being lined up...

Rock Revolution also doesn't have vocals.

I plan to rent it just because I'm curious, to try the guitar and bass and to see what they did with it. But I already know there's no way I'm buying it.

Queen, Pantera, Cream, and Rush (Spirit of the Radio) might make me rent, but not buy. Better setlist than GHWT, IMO. Too bad their all covers. HMX treats us right!

I'm going to rent it. There's some songs on there that I want to play on Rock Band(but we haven't gotten them...yet(I hope)), and the instruments are supossed to be compatible.

I'm not expecting much but hopefully it's not too bad.

This game is full of fail. It doesn't even have vocals, right? I don't think I'll be spending any money on this title. I'd rather have 2-3 new Rock Band songs than rent the game.

10 songs I would like to play (that aren't in RB2)

I'd give em $20 for it, not $50.

Yeah - No Vocals, all covers, and funky drums. I'll skip it.

I'm unsure whether to buy it....the songs look great. and i don't mind so much that they are covers. However, the charting looks terrible...I know it is possible to use rock band instruments..I wonder how the interface changes though?

I'll rent it. Too many GH/RB repeats to make it worth buying.

There happens to be a lot of duplicate songs on it, not to mention there's just not that many songs to begin with. I counted 12 songs that we already have with RB1/2 and DLC. Meaning I've already played 25% of the game.

Also, it looks kinda crappy.

Why doesn't HMX make a game called "Iron Cog Liquid" about a spy that has to stop some crazy military guy with a giant robot that has nukes in it?

I'm guessing they're using covers so they can time the sounds to play exactly when you actually hit them (as opposed to GH\RB where they play right on time no matter what). If they do that, then maybe it's interesting enough for a rental.

I really don't get the strategy of having so many covers of songs that are in RB. What, so they can steal the charts?

It also has the most pointless music creator of all time. You can make songs, but you can't distribute or play them.

If you think HMX invented the genre and Konami is ripping them off, you're severely misinformed.

Edit: Oh wait, I get what you're saying. Yeah, HMX probably could make a better MGS as well.

What I don't understand is how everyone insists that all the covers are worse than GH1's More Than a Feeling mixed with RB's Number of the Beast when they've never heard them...

I'll be renting it to play Am I Evil. Anything else in there will be an added bonus.
