I've been looking through the threads here and don't see any posts related to the problem I'm having. One of my drum pads doesn't work well. My yellow pad only occasionally recognizes being hit. I had this problem immediately coming out of the box, and still do after about 10 hours of hoping it just needed warn in. The other three pads work fine. The reason I'm sure that it's not my timing is because during fills I will just hit my yellow pad like 10 times and it might register one or two hits.

My blue drum pad was DOA. I got a rma on release night. Really Disappointing

One person mentioned he was having trouble and found a piece of cardboard wedged under one of the pads. Have you tried looking to see if anything is blocking the pad from fully compressing?

Same problem, just different color drum pad. Here's what I did:
Step 1 - Get online at the EA support site and request a new one asap....
Step 2 - Beat on it with your fist once or twice. Mine started working again when I did this, but did fail out mid song, so I gave it another whack and it's been decent since. The only thing I noticed is that you really have to hit it "square" in the middle to get a more consistant hit.
I know that's probably the most horrible way to fix it, but I am not sitting around with piece of useless equipment after I spent almost 200 bucks on the d*mn thing. And there is no way to take that thing apart (that I've found) in order to fix it myself (much like the GH3 guitar, which pooped out on me about 10 minutes into playing).

I'm having issues with the drums not registering my hits sometimes, mostly when I hit the outer rim of the pad. Usually if I hit dead on it registers just fine, though I have had a few times where I've missed with perfect timing and aim on some of the slower medium songs. At first I thought this was a sound and screen sync issue but after I fixed the calibration it was still happening enough to bug me.
I'm going to mess around with it more today and see if I'm just crazy or if there really is something wrong with pads.
OT: Strumming down on the RB guitar will cut out quite easily midway through the song, I've heard that some people have opened the guitar up and tightened some screws near the sensor to solve that problem.
Hopefully all of our problems are fixed, these are a lot issues for people to see on the first day.
Hardware issues aside however, the game is terrific.

my problem was exactly the opposite, my blue drum pad plays even if i don't hit it, all the other pads work fine, just hitting the yellow pad, activates my blue pad

The problem I have with my drums are that they aren't sensetive at all. 1 outta 10 hits doesn't register for any of the pads which makes the game a real pain to play for score.
I've already looked for any remaining pieces of packing cardboard wedged in the drums but found nothing.
Anyone know of any drum mods yet to improve their sensitivity? Or are they actually supposed to work better than this and I have a bum set?

Meh... Stupid bass pedal doesn't work. I've read that some people with the similar problem can get it to at least "actuate" by plugging/unplugging it from the drum kit, but mine won't even do that. EA has been notified and my new pedal is apparently on it's way. Still, bummer...

I've noticed a lot of peoples issue stem from simply not hitting it hard enough and square in the middle.
I suppose its good habit to need to hit it directly in the middle.

My yellow drum pad stopped working last night...the 2nd night of play. It wasn't being hit harder than expected. It was workign and then it wasnt...and it won't start.. I've already contacted ea and they are sending me a new one. Dear god this is rediculous. I hope my guitar doesn't end up having the same problem.
great game though.

Hehe, everyone has slightly different problems here. Mine is primarily with the red pad and only happens with multiple consecutive hits. If I hit it just once, it works every time without exception...but if I hit 2 or 3 in rapid succession, or do medium speed 16th notes or something like that, it misses a lot of them. I actually found that it does much better if I tap really really lightly. Anyone see this problem and how did you deal with it?
How is EA handling the warranty. Do they just send you a replacement outright, or do you have to ship your busted stuff back to them first?

You described my problem perfectly

I'm a drummer, majored in music and been playing drums for 20 years now, so I can definitely tell you I'm playing parts "correct", and even still I often see the same thing... about 1 or so out of every 10 notes just dont register. I'm playing in the dead center, with a good solid stroke, and still some seem to just miss even though I know its perfectly in time. This is on an LCD projector, and i have no lag problems with GH3 so thats not the issue.
I also notice a huge problem with the fill section, there seems to be a delay in response time.
Surely these folks had actual trained musicians QA this stuff? Its very frustrating from a score/gameplay perspective to know you are hitting the notes right on time and yet they still do not register.
