Here is an article from IGN that compares both consoles on each level in the game.

It's a premium member article so I had to put it in word format.

Enjoy!

<big>Price Points</big>
Rock Band requires four separate pieces of hardware including a control pad. The bundle comes with a guitar, a mic, and the drum set and costs $169.99 on both consoles. Right now the game disc is available separately for PS3 and 360 for $59.99. The individual instruments are scheduled to go on sale separately in February for these prices:
Rock Band Fender Guitar: $79.99
Drums: $79.99
Microphone: $29.99

Right now the only other item to mention in this section is a Universal USB Hub on sale for $24.99 that functions on both 360 and PS3. On 360, the game already comes with a hub that allows all the peripherals to work at once, but in case you need to further extend your options this accessory is available. There's also a PS2 version of the game currently announced for release in December. This bundle is currently listed at $159.99 and the game is listed at $49.99. We'll add our impressions from this version of the game when we get our hands on it.

<b><big>Features</big></b>
The Xbox and PS3 versions of Rock Band have the exact same set of in-game features. This means that the Band World Tour, the solo careers, and the online functionality is the same on both consoles. While we've heard that an online World Tour Mode is in the works, as far as we know it will also be the same across both consoles.
This is also true of the downloadable songs and as of today song packs are already available on Live and PSN. It looks like in the DLC category the PlayStation network is right there with Xbox Live. You can find the release schedule for downloadable songs right here. (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/835/835522p1.html) Here's what is available online right now:
3-Pack for $5.49 or Individual Tracks for $1.99 Each (160 Microsoft Points per track and 440 per pack for Xbox 360)
Metallica Pack
"Ride the Lightning" - Metallica
"Blackened" - Metallica
"And Justice for All" - Metallica

The Police Pack "Can't Stand Losing You" - The Police
"Synchronicity II" - The Police
"Roxanne" - The Police

Queens of the Stone Age Pack "3's and 7's" - Queens of the Stone Age
"Little Sister" - Queens of the Stone Age
"Sick Sick Sick" - Queens of the Stone Age

Individual Tracks for $1.99 Each(160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360)
"Fortunate Son" as made famous by Creedence Clearwater Revival *
"Juke Box Hero" as made famous by Foreigner *
"Bang a Gong (Get It On)" as made famous by T-Rex *
"My Sharona" as made famous by The Knack *
"Cherry Bomb" as made famous by The Runaways *
"Joker & The Thief"- Wolfmother

As usual the 360 version includes Achievements. As you may have guessed, there is no SIXAXIS functionality included with this game.

<b><big>Controls</big></b>
I will start this section by stating that the functionality of the instrument peripherals are exactly the same on both systems. Playing the guitar and bass, using the mic, and pounding the drums are identical experiences on each console. There are however a number of connectivity issues to take into account because Rock Band requires four USB ports to function. I've listed as many as have been recognized, I'm sure the list will grow.
http://insidermedia.ign.com/insider/image/article/836/836854/head-to-head-rock-band-20071120031812935-000.jpg
The 360 version of Rock Band comes with a small powered USB hub with four ports. You'll need to plug it in for it to function. The PS3 version does not come with a USB hub because some versions of the PS3 have four USB ports. The 40 Gig version of the PS3 only has two USB ports so you'll need to buy an additional USB hub to play the game.
The PS3 Rock Band Guitars are wireless. They connect to the PS3 using a USB dongle. You simply plug the dongle in and press the sync button on both the dongle and the guitar. So far the wireless guitar works great. The 360 guitars are wired, which detracts from the game, especially if you've been playing with the wireless Guitar Hero 3 peripheral for awhile now.
We have been able to use the Guitar Hero 3 wireless guitars with Rock Band for 360. The wired Guitar Hero II controllers also function. This is not true on PS3, only the Rock Band guitars work on that system which is a problem because PS3 guitars will not be sold separately until February. This presents a problem for people who only want to buy one copy of Rock Band on PS3 and don't have any friends.
On 360, Rock Band comes with adapters for the headset and its strange jack.Compounding these controller issues is the fact that World Tour Mode does not work with online play for either console yet. Hopefully some of these issues will be addressed with online patches.

Overall
Should we fault the PS3 more for the USB port debacle or 360 for having a wired guitar? In my opinion the wired 360 controllers are a bigger issue considering the wireless Guitar Hero III peripherals that were released earlier this year. On a side note, The PS3 guitar runs on three AA batteries and the compartment must be opened with a screw driver. This is not the most convenient way to power the instrument.
If and when you find more compatibility issues or fixes please leave your two cents in the article comments. We'll update this article as we spend more and more time with the game. For now we're listing both consoles as losers due to numerous oversights. Keep in mind the game itself has great controls, it's finding and using the specialized controllers that presents problems.
2. PS3 and 360

<big>Graphics</big>
Here's the funny part about the great animations and work put into the presentation of Rock Band: beyond the scrolling notes none of it really matters. However, if you aren't concentrating on rocking out you'll be happy to know that both the 360 and PS3 look and run almost identically. The brightness, clarity, and resolution are all comparable. The game uses so many filters when your band is on stage that its almost impossible to tell if there are any small differences in the appearance of the on screen characters. Just like at a real Rock n' Roll show, the experience is a most-excellent, hazy blur.

Overall
If there are any small differences between the two versions of the game they don't affect the gameplay. The same rocking experience is available on both consoles.

<big>Sound</big>
Both consoles present songs in 5.1 surround sound with all of the same sound effects for the gameplay. I would highly recommend playing this game on a high end system because being able to hear the individual parts greatly helps each member of the band.
While the PS2 version of the game isn't available yet, we can assume that it will come in last for this section due to the fact that it only outputs in ProLogic II.

1. Tie between 360, PS3

<big>Presentation</big>
Much like the Guitar Hero series the songs and menus in Rock Band load quickly enough that it doesn't put a damper on the action. You'll find similar performance on 360 and PS3 so don't worry about waiting longer to rock out on any one console. Along with loading the environments, if you're online there are slight pauses after a performance as the game communicates with the Rock Band Central server and updates the leaderboards. Rock Band's grainy, grungy presentation means that it's much less important if one of the consoles has slightly more pixilated backgrounds, or lower resolution art in any area. Most importantly the scrolling bars of notes are identical along with all of the affects that take place during a song including overdrive and stage effects. Once again, both consoles win this category.

Rock Band is a great experience on both consoles. With the game presented similarly enough on 360 and PS3 that it's fair to say we have a tie on our hands. The biggest issues are the wired guitar on 360 and the lack of a USB hub packed in with the PS3 version. There are numerous other issues regarding peripheral connectivity listed in the control section and we're eagerly waiting for EA and/or Harmonix to put out a press release regarding these issues.

It definitely helps me make my decision (as a PSWii60 owner), and since I live abroad, the PS3 is the only option open to me. Glad I won't be missing out on anything. But what I'm most concerned about: is the online play the same? It's all done in game, right? There should be no difference between the two online experiences than the userbase, right?

RIGHT????
