Hello,
Wireless routers are interfering with the PS3 dongle/guitar. Do we know which frequency the dongle/guitar uses so I can change my wireless accordingly? Also, there are many different wireless signals where i live because it is an apartment complex. Is there any way to get a wired guitar?

I have no problem with my router interfering with my guitar, your router has a frequency of 2.4Ghz (most likely) I don't think the guitar would have the same, but then again I don't know for sure.

The guitar also works in the 2.4GHz band. I am not sure exactly what frequency band RB operates at, but once I do, it would be easy to determine which Wi-Fi channels interfere.

i thought this might be the problem so turned off all my wireless stuff still no good - the RF light disconnected mid song so it's a risk to even play guitar and hope to complete a song.
This is bull - So basically other people that are experiencing somethign like this you will be playing the game then the light on the RF dongle switches to Blinking Red and the guitar shuts itself off right

I have my wireless router in the very near vicinity of my PS3 and I have a solid guitar connection. What channel is your router set to?

I posted this in another thread:
Well, according to the FCC, here: http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/prod/oet/fo...ive_or_pdf=pdf
it transmits in this range 2408MHz~2474MHz. The standard WiFi channels 1-11 (in the US) range from 2401MHz-2495MHz. Close reading of the FCC doc shows that the guitar splits its range into 3 channels. I don't know how the guitar chooses which channel to use. It might be random, it might do a quick interference scan.
My advice (and I think I'll try this when I get home) would be to set your wireless router to channel 11 (highest frequency) and then resync your guitar. If you have GH3, resync that one as well. Hopefully it will choose the lowest channel and produce the least amount of interference. this only applies to 802.11b/g networks, not 802.11a as they use a signal in the 5GHz range. Also, if your router can do it, you can try messing with it's transmit power, or even using a channel outside of the legally approved 1-11. Other countries can go up to channel 14 and most hardware supports that if you know how to configure it.

I would do this but a lot of my neighbors run wireless as well. I did do a scan and they are all channel 11 except for a 6 and a 9.

I guess it might be a defective guitar since it won't even sync now when it's right next to the dongle... it was syncing well when i first got it but 5 songs in.. it started to crap out.
