Well lets just say that after going to work from 8am-6pm, anxiously waiting for Rock Band didn't make me a happy person. The clock was tickingg sooo slowly. Anyways I go to Gamestop after work. The Gamestop employee I knew gauranteed me a copy of Rock Band bc I had it paid of 3 months ago. Anyway, the same employee was working there last night.
So I get there all excited and they knew who I was. "You're here for Rock Band, right?"..... Hell yeah, I said. So anyways I wait while the manager goes into the back, he comes back empty handed and walks up to "Winston" the employee who ****ed up. I didn't know this at the time. Anyways they get to whispering and I heard the manager:
Manager: "Did you mes up with that lady?"
Winston: "What?"
Manager: "There aren't any PS3 Rock Bands" (He points at me)
Me: :eek:
Winston: "He's getting the 360 version right?"
Manager: "NO"
Manager: "Did you sell his pre-order to that lady?"
Winston: (He couldn't even look in my direction b/c he knew
I was going to kick his ass after work)
Manager to Me: "I'm soooo sorry" (He gets on the phone and calls local Gamestops)
Other Girl That Worked There "Here's a Rock Band T-Shirt"
Me (Thinking.. WTF?)
Well the manger calls several Gamestops, no PS3 versions of Rock Band, then he finds one.
Manager: "You have ONE PS3 Rock Band?" "You're my hero!, Thanks! Don't Sell it I have osmeone coming to get it."
Well I'm standing there looking right at Winston with my worst Chuck Norris glare as the manager gives me a GS card with ALL my pre-order mooney on it.
I take it and leave for the Gamestop on a ****ing donut btw, hoping in all hope they have my Rock Band.
So I get there all excited and walk up to the counter.
Me: "I just came from the other Gamestop, the manager called you"
Clerk to employee: "Hey go in the back and get GUITAR HERO 3"
Me: "HOLY ****ING ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Clerk: "He told us to hold Guitar Hero 3 for you"
Me: "HOLY ****ING ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!" :eek:
Me: "ROCK BAAAAAANNNDDDD!!! WHY WOULD I NEED GUITAR HERO, IT ****ING SUCKS! WHY HOLD GUITAR HERO, THERE'S LIKE 15 OF THEM ON THE SHELF!!"
Clerk: "Wow... umm, Rock Band.. there's like no more left"
Other Employee: "Rock Band is ssoooo ****ing awesome. You HAVE to get it!"
Me: :eek: I was thinking (Jesus, if you're there, please send them to the darkest reaches of hell, along with Pauly Shore and Pee Wee Herman"
Clerk: "Wait, I think we have one special edition bundle for PS3, but it's pre-ordered. Hold up"
Clerk: (Calls the woman who pre-ordered Rock Band.)
Clerk: "Hello, (insert name). I noticed you have 3 PS3 pre-orders you haven't pick up, we have a major customer service issue here and I was wondering if there was any that you have to pick up right away."
Clerk: "Rock Band? Oh.. ok"
Clerk: "Well the thing is, we have someone here who had is pre-order sold and he's shipping of to Iraq tomorrow and won't be back until April (BLATANT LIE TO A CUSTOMER). We're getting some more Rock Bands in next week if you don't mind letting him have yours and if you don't mind waiting a week."
Lady on Phone: "Sure (I'm guessing)"
Clerk to Me: "Tell the Lady thanks."
Me: :eek: "THAAAAAAANNKKKKSSSSS!"
So..... well, I just screwed little Timmy out of his Christmas present from mommy in order to claim what is rightfully mine. Gamestop ****ed up but in the end justice was done. I rode home on my donut, with my bundle and Rocked Out into the wee hours of the morning with my fiance and friend, wearing my Rock Band T-Shirt.
EVERY INSTRUMENT WORKS PERFECTLY, NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER.
I didn't even have to calibrate lag.
This is officially the greatest game ever created on earth.
