View Full Version : Sick of "Painkiller". LF laid-back Players with DLC

I'm tired of playing the same songs over and over and over again. It seems like every other time I play online, the first song selected is Painkiller. Often times followed up with Visions. The rare time I do find someone with DLC it's always either the free stuff, or Queens of the Stone Age and metallica (which is awesome, but gets old fast).
I have diverse musical tastes, and I'm not looking to be 'the best' at anything.
I play expert guitar/bass (can't consistently pass the impossible guitar songs on expert though) medium drums, and sketchy vocals (as in, it sounds like i'm beating a cat.). I'll do whatever. Don't care, as long as you don't care.
I'm looking for players who like to play a wide-variety of songs, and who have a wide variety of songs. DLC wise, I have 90% of songs, including all albums but the Megadeth album (don't need more hard songs right now, thanks!), and a whole crapload of other singles. It would take less time to list what I don't have. (Editors Note: Not looking for people with a majority of DLC. Just with people who have DLC that they want to play.)
So yeah. Add me, please. Unless playing expert "Thrasher" is your cup of tea. Then please don't.
XBL: The Pwned
(BTW, it's a play on the band "The Used".)

Hi,
I'm tired of Painkiller and Visions. They are not even that fun to play. I play only if I absolutely have to..
I don't have nearly as much DLCs as you do, but I have a variety, some here and some there. 1 of my odd songs I like to play/listen to is "Hey" by Pixies... Not many people have it, but it has a strange attraction to it. I have some red hot chilli peppers, motley crue, stone temple pilots, weezer, etc.
I play guitar on expert (except for really hard songs like Visions...) and bass on expert (almost all on good days ;().
I also play drums but I don't know which level I can do on many songs. I finished RB1 drum solo tour on Medium. I managed to get flowless drumming on Charlene (the easiest song ever), and got most drum training achievements.
Vox: yes, I can sing if I really have to. Some of expert some on hard.
I'm done with the game except for the Endless Setlist 2, which I don't plan on trying anytime soon. So if you just want to play for fun, add me.

I have the same feelings as you do. People want to prove themselve playing very hard songs and doesn't take time to appreciate the easier one.
Anyway, i'll send you a message on XBL.
Peace

Exactly. I played a random game last night, and the singer got first pick. I love when the singer gets that first pick. He grabbed "Eye of the Tiger". Hooray! I got second pick and grabbed "A Jagged Gorgeous Winter" (My favorite Rock Band 2 song, by the way. I still have trouble on the end part of that song.) Then we went and played Battery for the drummer... and the singer left.

No offense, but when playing guitar online, I always try to alternate between playing bass and guitar; I like playing guitar and I know others do too, so I switch. If it's my song pick, I get guitar, if it's your pick, you get guitar; and just keep switching it like that. Just trying to keep it fair, eh? If that's not your cup of tea and you prefer to always play guitar, no biggie.

Not being a "DLC Whore" is not a reason to discriminate someone from my friends list. I buy a lot of DLC because I play a lot of Rock Band. I like it when it's a song I know, and chances are it'll grow on me if it's a song I don't know. Like I said - only a handful of songs I haven't purchased at this point. I still want to go back and grab the Mother Hips songs at some point, but I keep hoping they'll drop in price to a buck. Obscure stuff tends to be my favorite. I'm also quite happy playing Rush (Moving Pictures is a brilliant album), and I love the song Skullcrusher Mountain from the PAX pack.
Chances are good that I have whatever DLC you have. :)

Yeah it's often like that online, people doesn't talk together to choose a song and when someone chose a "bad one" (suggestively speaking), other member leave. It's actually pretty hard to play full band more than 30 minutes without someone leaving.
BTW I sent you a message and friend request. I am GMT -0500 and play mostly the evening (from 6:30 to 10).
See you around !

I have a respectable amount of DLC, most of it is classic rock. I play hard/expert vocals, expert guitar, and hard/expert drums (in that order). I'm up for just about anything on the song list as long as it isn't too rappy (is that a word?)
Go ahead and toss me an invite if you're interested: insomniac 142

I'm also not a "hardcore" player that absolutely HAS TO HAVE GOLD STARS ON EVERYTHING AND GIVE ME ALL THE HARD STUFF FIRST!!!!! Ahem.
I don't care what the difficulty of the song is, or what difficulty the rest of the band is playing on. I just want to play. True, I'm proud of my own personal gold star accomplishments, but overall I just want to know I can pass the song and most of all have fun with it. I do mostly singing -- by far my best of the four instruments -- but I'll play whatever.
GT is the same as my user name if you want to add me
