I called around today and found many copies for both platforms, at 4 different stores. Best Buy had the most. 67 copies for 360 and 23 copies for PS3. I live In Michigan 1 hr north of Detroit. AnyOne else notice a ton of RockBand Bundles at you local stores??? I thought these would be scarce by now.

Guess it's just the effect of hanging around a fan site where it sounds like everyone (in the world) wants the game and the reality is it'll take a couple weeks for word to spread to the general public. I only saw 1 Rock Band ad on TV in the weeks leading up to the release and frankly as neat as the highway start intro is.. it really doesn't tell you anything about the game. That said, I dunno if video showing a bunch of 30 year old geeks in a dank basement with plastic instruments would exactly sell product either. :)

I was in best buy today, they had a mountain of bundles. There is no shortage.

It's kind of scarce around here, but I don't live in a large city or anything.

The game has been out for two days. Give it a week then check your stores inventory.

I tried 5 damn stores just when they opened and GUESS WHAT?! They only got 30, COMBINED for both systems. 5 stores had 6 bundles each and they sold out in 3 miniutes. At least ive still got my preorder, but its not getting to the store until next week. Yeah, there is a shortage.

I couldn't agree more.
We were all brainwashed by the hype. Which would be a bad thing if the game sucked, but it is great so I can live with it.
Was it going to sell out for the season?
Did I need to get it immediately?
I was torn. I knew it was a niche game so I found it hard to believe that the masses would spend 170 dollars on toy drums and guitar, but I also know that it is very easy for things to sell out in Manhattan. In fact the wii is still always sold out. When the 360 launched Manhattan was probably the hardest place in the world to get one for the longest period of time.
After two days of sales in NYC there are still bundles available. Some were sold out.
It took zero time for 360's to sell out for nearly half a year.
To contrast that when the Wii launched it did not sell out immediately, in fact you could buy one days and weeks later and now you can never find it.
Clearly Rock Band was not an instant sell out, but after a few weeks of word of mouth will it disappear like the Wii?

I think that you're going to see a lot of what happened with the first Guitar Hero. I had a lot of people when I was working in a Gamestop saying "I'm not going to pay $80 just to play a guitar game..." Let me say, once we put it in our PS2 display unit that all changed.
I think that especially once Christmas is over, you're going to see a HUGE spike in sales. All the kids will be getting it and all their school friends will come over to play it, then they will want their own.
I think also that it hurts that some people think that it's just a "guitar hero rip-off". I have actually heard people say that and it never made sense to me. Not sure how you can rip-off something you made...
But yeah. In smaller population areas, I think you will see it is going to be sold out. Larger areas will have the units untill after Christmas and then it's going to break out.
