Whats up guys? I have been browsing this forum for a while now and finally decided to register. I am a 27 year old Special Education teacher, living in North Carolina with my wife and my 2 year old daughter. I am the admin at www.the360forum.com (hope thats not advertising, and if it is, mods; please delete).

My daughter enjoys watching me play Guitar Hero 2 and 3, but her new found joy is pounding the drums in Rock Band (and sceaming like hell in the mic). Check out this video:

Rock Band is all a big conspiracy to convince today's youth that drums are cool and train them into an unstoppable army until there will be an overabundance of drummers and severe competition that in the end will turn into one giant band.

Clever.

That's too cute. However, I don't dare let my almost 4 year old near my set. The boy has the Anti-Midas touch. Everything he touches either instantly disintegrates or turns to sh!t! I feel for the boy, really!

Now that is some parenting I can get behind!

Training up a future drummer is smart, 'cause Drummer-chicks can write their own ticket! Plus, c'mon, let's face it -- she looks like she is having the time of her life with Daddy!

As I write this, my wife is playing the *exact* same song on solo mode (easy) to practice up her own skills. She is channelling her frustration with the drums into learning a new skillset, working towards the "aha!" moment when her foot will just suddenly start smacking the pedal at the correct time. It happens. Trust me.

But she's not smiling as much as the little tyke in the video is! ;-)

That's awesome man. Since I setup the instruments yesterday, my 3 year old son has been driving me nuts to play the drums. I finally let him bang on them today, and he seemed to really enjoy it lol. Although he seems to hit the rims most of the time, and usually hits them way too hard. I let my 2 year old daughter try, and she seemed scared or something lol.

BTW, I live in Trinity, NC. :) Cool coincedence.

Sweet. I just bought my 3 year a jr. 5-piece drum kit for Christmas so he can bang on those while the rest of the family plays Rock Band (my wife has dibs on the RB drums). This truly is a great family game.

Great video, things like this make Rock Band a great experience. No other game can get my friends and family together like this.

Great watch. Made my day. I love how her face went into awe as she saw the band fly off the cliff, followed by her arms raised in triumph as they landed.

Wow, what a cool thread!

I just know that in 20 years that video is going to be on VH1's Behind the Music...

Very cute little girl. I'm sure my one year old will be the same when I get the drums. As it is, she wants to play Guitar Hero with me all time. Even say ""Tar ro."

i let my daughter play the "'tar" in the practice mode, but she likes the drums and the mic

That's awesome man. My daughter turned 2 in Sept. and it's funny, she has the exact same pink Dora chair. lol She sits in it with a guitar (that I leave unplugged!) and "plays" with me. When I play fast, she plays fast. All day long she will come up to me and say either "Daddy, can I play song?" or "Daddy, play guitar?". I haven't let her wail on the drums yet, but I am now inspired.

Awww, that is so cute! Reminds me of when I was a kid. A word or advice ... my parents would not let me have a drum set (something about being loud :)), so if you are willing to deal with a little noise, a drum set would make a great gift someday!!!!

In my household, the tapping of the drums has now become the general whitenoise and I can honestly say that if your family can handle the irritating sounds of 'other' people RB drumming, then you're in a perfect world! My one year old just using the sticks to beat up her 3 year old brother and my four year old thinks the drumpads are hers...as she's irritated whenever I steal 'her' time away from it:

dude, you have got to let her play on the drums!! on the way to the babysitter this morning, in bloom came on the radio and my daughter recognized the song and said that she wanted to play the drums...

At my house, my 4 year old plays drums while my wife plays bass and I play guitar and sing on Expert while tapping the bass pedal for him.

We passed Mississippi Queen that way. :) Once.

I'm tagging this to watch the video later, maybe it will iinspire my son to try to sing. He can say Hey Ho, Let's Go. And, if not, we've got big problems.

Pffffff...
I can do that...

But if I took a video of it, no one would think I am "cute".

Damn kids and their power over people older than them.

Let's see her ship back faulty foot pedals....that'd be cute too!
