View Full Version : Fuzzy Lyrics?

At times the scrolling lyrics are fuzzy -- so much so that they are almost illegible. This may be in my head, but it seemed to correlate to performance, so that the lyrics got harder to read as the performance worsened. If that's the case, that's really poor game design. I am hoping it's a tech issue and someone will have a good solution!

What TV and resolution are you running in?

I don't know. It's a high def of some sort. Could that be what's creating the issue? If it is my TV, is there some sort of solution?

If the TV is an older LCD or other TV with a lot of "ghosting" (where the pixels fade slowly when changing) that could cause the lyrics to be fuzzy. That's a tough one to fix.

If you are running in 1080i, try changing the resolution to 720p. The will cause the entire screen to draw every frame, and keep the words from being broken-up.

Good luck!

Yeah, dig up the information that came with your screen and make sure you're running your console at a fully-supported resolution.

Another culprit could be your cables. What system are you using, what type of video connection are you using, and how long have you had those cables?

If you're using the basic RCA/Component cables, or if you've got cables that have been roughed-up (kinking them really badly behind an entertainment unit, packing them in a school bag, that kind of thing), that could account for the fuzziness right there.

On my PS2, I was getting fuzzy text and faded colours on an SDTV with the RCA cables that bundled with the console after a few years, the cable was kinda bent harshly near the console because of how it was positioned -- I used the older cables that came with my PS1, and that fixed the problem right there.

At the very least, clean your connectors (first figure out what kind of connectors you have, then look up proper cleaning techniques in the manual or online).

If you're using the basic cables, and your screen has other input options like DVI or VGA, you might want to consider replacing your existing video cables with a higher quality conection format.

Unless your screen itself is very old or very crappy, this should be easy to fix. I'd start with Bakkster's recomendations and then try mine in order. See if that fixes yer problems.

Try changing to static lyrics instead of scrolling in the options menu. That's all I know.
