Computers and videogames hands-on Preview (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=167004)
It doesn't really tell us anything we don't already know, but I found this bit interesting

Potential highlights include The Beatles, Smashing Pumpkins, Blur, Aerosmith, The Who, Guns N' Roses, Weezer, AC/DC, Weezer, Manic Street Preachers and literally countless others that deserve to make it into the game. But with only a few tunes officially revealed at the time of going to press, we'll just have to dream about what could be for the time being.

There's also some nice new screenshots of the HUD.

Awesome Screenshots , Love the Interface , Did you Noticed The Preview Said "Start training your fingers, arms and vocal chords and we'll see you peacocking on stage in October. No really. We will"

It also said that "Rock Star isn't out for six months, though" and the article was written June 30. So I don't know what that October comment was all about. I highly doubt we'll be seeing the game's release that early.

I hope this means that those bands are in the game...

Reading it carefully, I think these bands are bands that COULD be in the game, but we do know many of those are in already.

Song 2 by Blur would be sweet.

That's how they worded it, but I think they were trying to be cute here. They wrote this coming out of a play session. Weezer and The Who are confirmed of course, and we know that they are playtesting with G'n'R and AC/DC, even though they haven't announced any finalized licensing arrangements.

I think they are naming bands that they actually played over at Harmonix, although not all of them may make it into the final game pending licensing.

Clearly The Beatles would be a blockbuster get. Now, I just need to hear that they are going after The Doors, who would be available through Rhino Entertainment.
