Is there a way to talk to others either before or after a song online? If not, what's the point of playing online? Why not just play solo?

Yes, there is.

...

I'm not really sure how, though. I know the vocalist can do it by holding the trigger on the controller while talking -- it works during the 'four dudes lined up' screen, and even while singing the song. And I've heard others who were playing guitars and drums talk to me and respond to what I was saying.

Beyond that I'm not sure. I think it has to do with the 'headset adapter' plug things with the tiny wires that ship with the game. Where do they plug in, though..?

On the 360:

If yer singing, hold down the 360 controller triggers to talk.

If yer playing guitar/bass/drums, plug your headset into your instrument using the little black cable that came with the set. It might take a bit of plugging it and unplugging it, and sometimes the connection might get loose if you dont use the snaps it comes with. If you have the headset on, and you plug it in, you'll hear a little pop in your headset...that means yer plugged in, and can talk to anyone online anytime.

So if I am playing online wiht some friends and they are singing, I won't hear their vocals on my end? Only if they hold the triggers on the controller? That isn't viable when also holding the mic.

Where is this port on the guitar? I found it easily on the drums but I'm dumbfounded looking for it on the guitar.

EDIT: Never mind, found it. It's in a different spot than the X-Plorer and that threw me off.

bluetoof ya say?

do ya have the ps3 version and can confirm it works with it?
I just want to be absolutely certain before heading out to pick one up.
If not, does anyone with the ps3 version know any way of communicating in game at all?
