Hasn`t there already been a class action suit against Microsoft for this same subject? I swear I remember eading something about another lawsuit that resulted in Microsoft extending their warranty and issuing refunds for repair fees.

this is purely a ambulance-chasing, money-grabbing, scheme brought up people who hear that video-games is the highest profitable form of media.

fact #1: no console made and sold within the last 15 years was sold at a profit. the PS3 Units in particular are sold at about HALF of what they cost to make, and I imagine the 360 are at least close to that ballpark.

fact #2: any "profit" that is gained, is done from the sales of games perihreals, and online content.

fact #3: the 360 has yet to make a profit.

fact #4: the original Xbox NEVER made a profit.

Not true anymore. The PS3 is sold at roughly an $80 loss at the 80GB end and a break-even on the 160GB system, and the 360 is, in the wake of recent price cuts, about a $50 loss across the board. Nintendo has never sold a console at a loss, and the Wii actually has an obscene profit margin (costs roughly $100 to make, maybe less).

Largely. You also forget game licensing fees (unless that was in there and your forgot a comma, entirely possible). Reminding you again Nintendo makes a profit on hardware.

fact #3: the 360 has yet to make a profit.
It appeared to be making a slight hardware profit prior to the price cut, and the Xbox division of Microsoft has been pulling profits for the past year or so (excluding their one-time write-down charge with respect to the RRoD warranties).

fact #4: the original Xbox NEVER made a profit.
On this you are correct.

I don't think this will go far since Microsoft has been rather lenient on it's return policy. You say RRoD, they fix it. I had mine a long time and they didn't even ask when I bought it. I told them and 3 weeks later I had a new Xbox.

Maybe this should go in that "Milking" thread a few lines down.

Oh good. Some lawyer gets rich and everyone else gets 1600 free MS points. Class action suits are stupid.
