View Full Version : Wait...is the guitar on the left or the right side of the screen?

I was looking at a screenshot with In Bloom being played. I'm about 99% sure that in the part with the lyrics that matched the top - the guitar part resembled the right side while the bass corresponded to the left track. I guess this isn't all that important, but I had kinda expected the guitar to be first from left-to-right. So I guess this means that it's the bass track that has that weird tinted color on it. Do we know or have any good guesses about why that one track is colored?

The screenshot is here:

I can't answer your question for why one is colored.....but all I have to say is that I hope this screenshot doesn't display what the final backgrounds for the note charts will look like. It looks cheap like something you can d/l on computer like Frets on Fire or something lame...

The reason the fret board on the left is colored is because it's in the middle of a Star Power (or whatever they're going to call it for Rock Band). Just look at the multiplier.

The article in GI, straight from Alex himself, says that the fretboards are see-through so that the background where all the action is can be seen. If each board had art on it, you wouldn't be able to see anything in multiplayer.

I would guess thats the bass on the left, Since it looks like the frets are more spread out.

Why does it matter? Your guitarist might have to stand on a different side of the screen than he thought, it's no biggie. I think it says in the article which one is on which side, but I don't remember exactly.

lol. In the screen shot the singer is getting so shun by the audience, look at where they're all looking.

And yeah, I don't thing it really matters where people stand. And it'll be like30-40cm away anyway, you could still stand in the same order you want just look at the other side of the tv.

It doesn't really matter. I had thought it was on the left but the screenshot confirmed that it was on the right. I just want to be informed about it, it's not like I'm disappointed or anything.

Haha, nice observation. Maybe they're all looking at the monitors. "Dude look, we're on TV!"

Bass doesn't have chords. Guitar must be on the right.

However, you will most likely be able to customize it.

A couple bass tracks on GH2 had chords. "John The Fisherman" specifically is one I remember. I would guess that in RB they'll try to do it again, since it makes the parts more interesting.

Are you asking what song is in the screen shots? If so you are a dumbass, if not then my mistake.

I think it's pretty easy to see from the screenshot that the guitar is on the right and bass/rhythm is on the left. But you're right about the video having the guitar on the left and the bass/rhythm on the right. Maybe this means that it will be (hopefully) customizable?

Do you really think that the Bass Guitar has no chords?

Well from the video of the early build I spose we can assume you choose, or maybe they just changed it since. But yeah.... does it matter?

Bass doesn't have chords in the sense that you hold 'em in place and strum up and down repeatedly, but there are plucking chords on two or more strings.
