'Bag it Up,' 'Waiting for the Rapture' and Hit Single 'The Shock of the Lightning' to arrive in November; Full Album Available in 2009

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Oct 17, 2008: Gamers looking to shred, drum and wail away to the new sounds of beloved, multi-platinum UK rock band, Oasis, need not wait much longer as music from the band's critically acclaimed Dig Out Your Soul album will soon be available for download in Activision Publishing, Inc.'s (Nasdaq: ATVI) Guitar Hero® World Tour.

Featuring "Bag it Up," "Waiting for the Rapture" and the hit first single "The Shock of the Lightning" from the band's seventh studio album, the Oasis Track Pack will be available on November 6th for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system. In addition, the three tracks will be released as single downloadable songs for both the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3. The Dig Out Your Soul album, in its entirety or via individual singles, will be available for download in 2009.

i'm hardly an oasis fan (i like two of their songs), but a lot of my friends are and i haven't heard a single good thing about this album.

They can have it. Four tracks of 90's Oasis are much better than a full album of new Oasis.

And I'm not saying this just because Rock Band has the 4 tracks. If it was Definitely Maybe, (What's the Story) Morning Glory, or even Be Here Now being released then I'd probably buy it.

I won't even lie, I actually like the new Oasis album. It's eons above what they've been putting out more recently. It's just a different sound. I think people will be surprised by how fun these songs will be. That said, I'd still rather have classic Oasis, and it's starting to look like Activision is using DLC as a promotional tool instead of a way to dig around the gems of Rock and Roll history.

I love me some Oasis, I was hoping RB would release Dig Out Your Soul as full album DLC, or at least release a pack. While I prefer classic Oasis, the new album is very good. Better than most of the new stuff out there right now. GHWT just got more appealing to me.

DAMMIT. Why does GHWT have to do this to me? I was on the fence for a long time and ultimately decided I wasn't going to get GHWT. And now they have to tempt me? Dammit.

I'm curious how some songs are even gonna fit in a band game. "To Be Where There's Life" doesn't have any guitar on it, just bass. "I'm Outta Time" is a piano-driven ballad.... I mean, I love the album, but some songs will just not work.

C'mon, Harmonix, you need to one-up these pissers at Activision.

Who cares. GH gets washed up bands new albums as DLC and we get great albums from great bands in their prime. Oh and 7 Nirvana tracks. GH can suck it.
