I know that the box has a notice saying no returns to the store of purchase but I know best buy and eb games do offer a replacement protection plan. Has anyone purchases this? I just like to know how that works if they tell us to send them to ea? I will have to wait till dec to get mine but i was just curious

Replacement plans at stores are the biggest ripoff going, they won't replace anything. EA will though, and from whats being posted they are doing great at it.

im watching closely to see what EA says about instrument replacement. 60 days is not that long of a warranty. say youre lucky enough to not have any issues for three months while countless of others have already had theirs replaced under warranty. and then in that 3rd month your drums or guitar finally breaks...since the warranty is up, are you forced to buy a new one even though you basically had the same batch of faulty guitars? that doesnt seem right just cuz yours lasted a little bit longer before giving out.
the best buy plan you can purchase up to 30 days later and it's good for unlimited replacements for the first year, and one replacement in the 2nd year. not bad for $30 the way the instruments are dying on everyone. if you replace something in the 2nd year, i think they give you an option to rebuy a warranty plan, but i think at that point we'll be looking at new peripherals anyway.
i usually think these plans are hogwash, but with all the reports of instruments failing i admit i am a bit worried and $30 doesnt seem that bad for peace of mind. just wondering how the hell best buy plans to replace strats or drums if there are no bundles readily available.
