Whats the worst overall song in rock band in your opinion? As in : Not fun to play on anything... AND sounds horrible

I gotta say

Green grass and high tides

Hands down the worst song in the game

Its no fun AT ALL on drums , it just kills your leg and does the same little beat for about the last half of its 10 minute long hell

Its not fun on guitar either... its like some hillbillys got together and decided to write a song , but then decided to tack on an 8 minute long random hillbilly guitar wailing with no structure

Also not fun to sing

AND it sounds really.... really... lame

I hate this song with a passion >:O

Congratulations on once again proving you have no musical taste. ;)

I'm not sure what my least favourite is. I'm actually enjoying the songs I thought I'd dislike... probably Celebrity Skin, I guess.

Im mostly pissed off at it for hurting my leg so bad :(

Taste in music? How can you judge for him? Are you him? Do you share his thoughts and opinions? Music is completely subjective, and you can never say that one person doesn't have taste as his or her opinions will almost always derive from your own.

And yes, I say Green Grass and High Tides as well. I think it's just a long, boring song.

Should I Stay or Should I Go

Guitar and bass are boring, vocals are lame, drums are decent though but the song is really repetitive.

I voted for the bonus songs.

Specifically Seven by Vagiant. I just didn't really like the way it sounds, and it didn't try to make up with fun parts.

Although I debated between Main Offender and Welcome Home also. But those are just meh, I actually dislike Seven.

Honestly, I like almost all of the songs up there. How dare you put Electric Version as a vote for worst song! It's awesome! :P

Well that's the point really. I actually did have fun on the guitar, I just don't like the way the song sounds (and, not knowing Coheed and Cambria, I was freaked out by the fact that the singer was a guy the first time around lol)

I really like all but a few songs in the game. And with the exception of Seven, I find those songs pretty easy to bear.

If this poll is about the actual song and not the gameplay, then whoever votes for Green Grass and High Tides is a *****. Southern Rock is great. Skynyrd or ZZ Top would slay most of these new bands.

Here it Goes Again

Perhaps it's because it was played SO much on t.v., but I was annoyed with this song before i got the game. The gameplay is boring and repetitive, especially on drums.

I feel sorry the poor, musically-challenged people who voted for Maps. Karen O is one of the coolest girls in popular music, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs's music is amazing. This is one of the funnest drum songs in Rock Band.

Wave of Mutilation? Should I Stay or Should I Go? Maps?

What the hell is wrong with y'all? These are great songs!

For my money, Black Hole Sun is abysmal. I love you, Harmonix, but if you ever put a song that bad in one if your games again I'm going to blow up a post office.

Maps is great.. very Portishead.

But umm.. thrashing Blackhole Sun? Man... I loooove black hole sun, the whole band here loves black hole sun.

I dunno that I can call anything the "worst" but I'm tired of playing Creep. Oh and yeah, I groan heavily when GGAHT comes up (on drums).

Actually I think maybe Train Kept a Rollin is the song (not gameplay) I dislike the most.. yeah.. useless song.

I played BWT for the first time yesterday with a few friends and we were doing amazing! Then we come across the rival band challenging us to a duel for some roadies, so naturally we accept. We had some problems with the first song, but we got thorough it.
And then we came to Green Grass and High Tides... >_<
None of us had ever played this song. I had warned my band mates that this was gonna be a tough song and that it was "the Freebird of Rock Band", but I had never personally played it.
We all failed out at one time or another. We tried playing the song 3 times, we failed each time, and lost 44,800 fans...
I don't like that song...

The only song in the game so far I don't like is Wave of Mutilation, and neither do my friends. It is just so bland... none of the parts are really fun to play.

Now Monkey Gone To Heaven... that's a Pixies song I'd like to play. Vocals would be fun in the same way Sabotage is fun.

What difficulty? On easy and medium, the only fun part is the chorus (and that's only because, to me, hitting two pads at the same time makes a satisfying "double-click"). But that part of the song isn't very interesting beyond that.

If you've ever played real drums (Which I'm assuming you haven't), it's basically doing the same thing over and over and over again. Same for rhythm guitar. A 10 minute song though... that's child's play, Would you rather be playing Shine On You Crazy Diamond? or The Eleven? Do you really want to play in 11/12? I didn't think so.

Anyways, I love Green Grass and High Tides, it's a rock anthem. I'd say Freebird is closer to hilbilly rock than The Outlaws.

Dead on Arrival - Fall Out Boy, Celebrity Skin - Hole, The Hand That Feed Me - NIN, I Think I'm Paranoid - Garbage (It really is Garbage toO!), Beastie Boys song, Pixies, and Bon Jovi are the ones I hope I never have to play, ever.

I completely don't get Welcome Home. Even so, I recognize the fact that it's a genre song, it's not supposed to appeal to my 30-something self, and that it doesn't suck. I have a feeling the people who are putting GGaHT are voting that way because they don't get it, not because it's bad music.

The only song that I truly feel is just bad music is Maps. Any song that I (a total hack) can pick up and play on a real guitar is simply bad music. I not only don't get it, I don't get what they were even trying for.

I'm amazed that Maps is getting panned so badly in here. I love that song. Wave of Mutilation is unquestionably great fare from one of the greatest alterna-rock bands ever formed.

If I had to pick a worst song of the major label artists I guess I'd pick that god-awful Fallout Boy "song". It's so terrible I really do feel ill after playing it.

But as far as the worst song on the game... AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS PLAYED "PLEASURE" BY BANG CAMARO? Seriously that song is so far and away the worst song on the game I just can't believe that no one else has mentioned it yet. Rock Band is not Guitar Hero, so the speed and complexity of the guitar is not the defining measure of a song's worth. Dismissing Maps for the lack of complexity in its guitar line is like dismissing Green Grass and High Tides for the simplicity of its vocal track.

Fine... I'll dismiss it for its lack of complexity in everything. It does not specialize in one thing. My g/f can sing it and 5 star it on expert, I can 5 star it on expert on guitar, my buddy on bass, and my buddy on drums. all 5 star, all expert, and we have played it only about 5 times. We jumped from playing it the first time on hard to expert and 5 starred it the second time we ever played it. If we ever needed a charity song on a set to earn back fans, we play maps.

My most hated song shall always be Main Offender. It's tolerable playing guitar to it, but the dudes voice... HIS HORRENDOUS, TALENTLESS VOICE!!!! It's like suffering through that terrible cover version of Heart Shaped Box on GHII.

Other notably miserable songs are: Electric Version, Flirtin' With Disaster, Here It Goes Again, and Say It Ain't So.

Most hated bonus tracks: Hands down, that nauseating Vagiant song. I might be mistaken, but I think the female vocalist is the same woman that demoed singing Main Offender for Rock Band at E3 (for the Xbox 360). If this is the same woman, that makes a lot of sense that she'd love and be inspired by that disgusting Hives band. (too bad, because she's super hot... what a waste)

Second most hated bonus song is I Get By. Why did they allow this thing to be in the game??? They sound like some untalented high school band that got turned down to audition to play at the prom.

Other than those, I love the majority of the bonus tracks. Nightmare, Outside, Pleasure and Brainpower being among my favorites.

I know that it has already been discussed, but "Train Kept A-Rollin'" is the worst song on the game. WTF. I really would have liked "Sweet Emotion" or anything else, but it's like one other poster said "0/3 with Aerosmith songs." GGaHT is a fun song, but long. Really impressed with all of the other songs. Maybe not with "Here it Goes Again," never liked that song and avoid it like the plague on the game.

Another vote for "Train Kept A-Rollin'" by Aerosmith as the worst song in the game. They're not the greatest band (it's unfathomable that at one time they were discussed in the same context as the Stones and Zep), and this is one of their weakest songs. It sounds like a parody. The guitar part isn't terrible, but not very inventive.

"Here It Goes Again" is a nice light poppy song that had grown tiresome well before I had to play it a million times for RB. It's my second-worst contender.

"Flirtin' With Disaster" and "Ballroom Blitz" tie for third-worst.

I like most of the bonus tracks.

Having said all that, I love the music overall. Assembling a collection of songs with general appeal is a difficult and thankless task, and Harmonix did a hell of a good job.

I can't get pass the Green Grass and High Tides song because my foot get tried on the bass pedal. I just can't do it, that same repetitive beat at the end especially. also the Rolling Stones suck donkey balls

What? Rolling Stone suck donkey balls? Gimme Shelter is excellent. I mean... Its surely in the top 5 most influent songs of this whole game and it's the 38th best song according to the Rolling Stone magazine. (Rolling Stone magazine didn't choose their name because of the Rolling Stones btw)

I don,t care you you say about aerosmith lol, i don't know them enough to care

mmm...i liked having maps in there b/c there weren't enough female vocalists and more pop rock songs, although i guess it might not be the target audience :p

worst song:
wave of mutilation

coming close:

detroit rock city

Wow wow... wooooow wooooow! Suffragette city and detroit rock city in your worst songs list! Maybe you don't understand the importance of David Bowie and Kiss (well i gotta admit Kiss's cheesy) in rock's evolution... You can say you don't like them but don't say it's bad.

This isn't contemporary music appreciation 101. A song's importance in the history of rock evolution has nothing to do someone's enjoyment of said song.

Suffragette City = good
Detroit Rock City = bad
My opinion = mine

One song that always made me cringe on the radio, but which we love to play in Rock Band, is Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive." Its soft/hard sections and progression are really predictable and trite to my ear, but in RB it works very well with the game flow. I can't stand Bon Jovi, but we whoop it up every time we play that song in RB.

I love Maps, Electric Version, Wave of Mutilation, and the other songs that are getting a lot of hate here.Agreed on both likes and dislikes.

"Epic" is complete and utter rubbish. It was rubbish back when it came out, and it's rubbish now. Whenever I have to sing it, I change the chant to "What is this? It's sh*t! What's this song? It's sh*t!"

We can't even do it on hard vocals, not because it's actually hard, but because we really have a tendency to ham it up and just can't stick to mimicking the vocal track. Usually everyone in the room starts singing along too.

Definatly picked Dead on Arrival, horrible horrible song.

But its a non-issue for me because anytime I have to play it I turn down the background music and pretty much just hear the drums. Only song on the entire game that I do that for.

Just because it easy to play doesn't mean its a bad song. They are trying to go for a fun song to play for everyone. I don't get some people sometimes. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs have a very distinct style of playing. Its not about being a challenging riff or any means like that. I would like to know what songs you do like...

Maps is f--king great for vocals. I drop the song an octave and belt it like a lounge singer, complete with "This ones for the ladies!" intro.

Don't worry, I love Maps too!

I'm surprised that not many people have called out Welcome Home for being completely, utterly terrible. It's not so much that it sounds like canned emo/progressive rock, but more that it completely lacks poetry. Last I checked, music was considered an art, and Coheed and Cambria completely defecates all over that notion. I mean the lines are just terrible; "before I hope you die"? Oh God, please don't hope I die! I really tried to like it (I managed to tolerate Dead On Arrival), but it's hopeless. The song is completely devoid of thought and merit.

Some might argue that music is about feeling. It's too bad that Welcome Home is the artistic equivalent of a canvas completely covered in red. Yes, I understand what you're feeling, but could you please put some thought into it before you do? Maps, which seems to be suffering the most in this thread, is a good example of a song that does a lot with a simple arrangement. Sure, it doesn't have complicated chord progressions or an insane solo, but it makes you feel. It doesn't wield sound like a cudgel; it is subtle and powerful at the same time. Creep is similar; while it might not be heavy lyrically, it is precisely the contrast of small words and big riffs that really makes the listener feel.

Oh, and Epic is pond scum as well.

Welcome Home has some kick ass riffs. As the Guitarist of the band, I love it when that song comes up. I can play that song on a real guitar, as well. You have to do a harmonic on e, which is the hardest string (IMO) to do a pinch harmonic on. Plus the solos are fun to play.

Ah, yes. It's great that you quoted the post that you did when writing this message. It explains the two battling sides of what makes a good song in such an elegant manner that I wouldn't have been able to explain otherwise. Your views reflect technical merit as good music while the other explains artistic/emotional expression as good music. I myself tend to land somewhere in the middle, as overly technical music grates my ears (Dragonforce and most metal in general...) while some "artsy" music just goes way overboard to the point where the music suffers.

Now in context of the game, there are songs that are no fun to play but are good songs and there are songs that are fun to play but are terrible songs.

For example, I love the song Say It Ain't So, but except for the vocals it's not that much fun to play (although it's a great intro to guitar/vocals simultaneously...). Same deal with Go With The Flow. I also think Run To the Hills is a horrible song *hides away from the metalheads...*, but all of the parts are a lot of fun to play. Same deal with Here it Goes Again.

What? A purely positive comment on the internet? Where did you come from?!

Seriously though, it's easy to hate on something. But the fact is all these bands made songs that appeal to lots of people, and they did a good job in their own right. I wish I could make money just writing songs, so kudos to all those bands. Having said that, I still wish Detroit Rock City was omitted. I'd really love to have a feature where you can disable certain songs from coming up in BWT. There'd have to be a cap on it so people don't just disable everything except the easiest songs.

Hehe, Don't Wanna Miss a Thing is the epitome of emo in my opinion. For some reason punk-prog is often called emo instead though. Just like jazz-punk is called ska, even though it's nothing like the ska of the 50's. I'll never understand these stylistic labels.

My personal least favorite is Detroit Rock City by KISS. I'm aware KISS had an impact on rock and roll history. I'm also aware that I don't like their sound.

Next is probably I Can Go With The Flow by Queens of the Stone Age (I actually like some of their stuff, but not this song), then Sufragette City by David Bowie.

Also, I think Green Grass and High Tides is alright as a song, but, for every instrument I've played it on (all except vocals), I haven't enjoyed it.

Electric Version by The New Pornographers is probably the most superfluous, as Fall Out Boy is at least relevant in the fact they're popular in the mainstream right now. Granted, I like singing 'streaming out of the magnets' in a high-pitched voice, so the song fits my tastes. Or vice versa, more likely.

I don't like Courtney Love as a person, but Celebrity Skin's kinda fun as a band in my opinion.

I can't understand not liking Should I Stay or Should I Go?, nor Here It Goes Again, personally, but obviously that's me. Flirtin' with Disaster and Maps I can understand, especially the latter, but I think they bring diversity to the game.

Green grass and high tides? are you serious!
I had never heard the song before I played it last in guitar solo career, and I immediately fell in love with it. Ill be so bold to say that it is the most fun song to play on guitar.

Dont judge a song based on one peripheral. Each song was put in for a reason, Green grass and high tides being in there for guitar mostly, Jukebox hero for vocals, Tom Sawyer for Bass, Run For the Hills for drums, etc.

least favorite are the songs who's guitar part is basically ONLY 'chords'... just isn't fun to me. But as of last night, that stupid ass Iron Maiden song (fanbois flame ON!). Drums on hard/expert is just ******ed and I can't see how anyone has fun playing that, the guitar is just as lame. ugh. Was such a good setlist till that song to end it...

This song annoys me to my very core... whenever I have to play it I just want to punch something. It is not difficult, and the chick who sings it sounds weird (at least I think she does.)
After that, I would probably have to say Go with the Flow. I don't know what it is about this song, I just don't like it very much.
To thread starter - It escapes me how you cannot like any part of GGHT. Maybe the singing and drums aren't as great, but the guitar at least makes up for it... If you don't like that song, I can't imagine the songs you do like.

I'm starting to think this thread should be called "I wish i could sing because i'm jealous of lead singers" seriously, not every song needs a huge ridiculous guitar solo. I don't think Fall Out Boy belonged in the main game, but at lead they're vocally challenging... in fact, most of the songs i hear people disliking (with the exception of Green Grass and High Tides) are the vocal heavy songs. That's why there's guitar hero, and probably why you're playing this game... cuz your band kicked you out.

Oh man, that's a lot of fans... :( :(

I guess "to each their own" in regards to a song they hate. Try playing the guitar and singing the vocals on Ride the Lightning.

I'm sure for some people, it may not be hard, and even though I got 4 stars (around 4.5 to be more precise), I'm wondering how I'd do with both guitar and vocals set on medium instead of easy or a combination of either.

Yes, I played it on easy. I played GH starting from there and moved on up. Still, no mockery. Plz, kthnx. :p ;)

You're insane for not liking Green grass and High Tides. You must simply have no appreciation for good music. The length of a song should not determine it's worth. It's pretty close to my favorite song in the game.

I personally dislike a lot of the bonus tracks.

I am really, very surprised that BALLROOM BLITZ is not one of the choices here.

but nothing on the kick pedal has been hard on me...
now if they had double bass in this game i might be a little sore (i suck at in real life, and Rock Band is harder than real instruments....)

i think Maps on Expert is one of the best songs for drums... it feels realistic and fairly challenging. it and In Bloom are the songs i've ENJOYED the most so far...

but as to what i DISLIKE... idk, GGAHT is pretty repetitive... but i've only gotten about a quarter through expert (i just got the game Saturday night)... so i can't really say.

I think it's really fun to play Ballroom Blitz as far as vocals go.

The guitar's pretty wicked, too. Hell, as an added challenge, try playing guitar and singing simultaneously. Fun, but hard.

As for worst song (in regards to playability, as debating opinion/taste is stupid and pointless): I have a problem with the vocals in Reptilia. I'm a pretty good singer, and had no problem on vocals on Expert until I got to that damn song. I played it by sight, by ear, and a little of both, and was never even close to the mark. I swear, I think it was calibrated off key (or the singing is really hard to hear because it's almost at talk-level).

Aside from that, I find something positive in just about every other song I've encountered. Even songs I wouldn't ordinarily like provide something that keeps me coming back (be it in the form of vocals, guitar, bass, or drums), so I'm pretty good with everything else.

Edit: And did somebody actually suggest Foreplay/Longtime as the worst song? HERESY!

I think a lot of people have forgotten that The Beastie Boys have a song in this game. I don't know about anyone else, but I tend to not like music that sounds like kittens being tortured by a howling wolverine that has strep throat.

Oh, and Queens of the Stoneage's "Sick,Sick,Sick" is easily the worst buck fifty I have ever spent in my life. Serves me right for buying the song without knowing what it sounded like.

1) Maps does not suck, nobody wants to vocals for it and the guitar is as easy as pie, but its one of my favorite songs to drum to.
2) Train Kept A'Rolling just keeps on rolling, on and on, on and on, its like an infinite loop of kinding boring riffs.
3) GG&HT is EMAZING!!!!! I <3 this song so much, its soooo much fun on guitar. The drums are a little bit tiring, buy HEY! thats what the pause button is for.
4) Electric Version is not fun to play on any intstrument and its just irritating.
5) Celebrity Skin isnt that bad of a song, I enjoy it to a point, and it seems the developers made it one of the most exciting songs to watch in the game...
6) Brain power, are you freaking kidding me? Excuse me while I go cut off my ears.
7) Fall out boy, WHY!?!??! Why not go with a GOOD emo band, such as MCR.
8) Should I stay or should I go isnt that fun to play, is kinda irritating to listen to, but not THAAAT bad.
9) Timmy & The Underlords owns all.

Fun thread! I have to admit I am kind of shocked at some of the songs mentioned that people hate but to each their own. Ballroom blitz is the worst song I've ever played on any rythym game. I can barely listen to it. I've been tempted to play it with the sound off on career mode just to get through it. The annoying voice, camp lyrics, just irratating.

Other than that I find the punky songs a little boring; Blitzkrieg Bop and Should I Stay or Should I Go. Don't mind them outside of the game, just feel a bit disappointed whenever I have to play them.

Quite like green grass and high tides, the endurance element on drums I think is quite fun. Maybe I'm a little sadistic.

Obviously, Dead On Arrival
1. How many people like intercourse with donkeys and using them as vocals?
2. The intro was the only part that won't make your ears bleed.
3. Complicated drums? you mean the stuff that's been in every track they've done?

Now that's damn funny! And I agree wholeheartedly. I'm a Beastie's fan but that song just blows ass. As someone else said, if you're going to include the Beastie Boys in RB (a debatable point in and of itself) then why not "No sleep til Brooklyn", a song that is decent to listen to. "Sabotage" nearly makes my ears bleed.

Of course, I like "Maps". It's fun to sing and the drum solo at the beginning challenges my newbie, non-drumming butt, even on easy. (Those of us that aren't musicians or dedicated whole days of our lives to playing have merit too! :D )

I gotta say the fallout boy one. I generally don't like that style of vocals at all, but I pretty much hate everything thats fast punk or thrash, with exceptions. Fallout boy did OK with the arms race song I suppose. Theres a couple bonus songs that really get on my nerves too, and the coheed and cambria vocals have always annoyed me, but its forgivable because the rest of the song is great. Rush is annoying as well but they are forgiven for same reasons as coheed. The xmas pack featured some horrible vocal songs as well, but I still got it and most of em are pretty fun on drums.

The best ones for vocals for me are the metallica songs, soundgarden, nirvana, stone temple pilots and smashing pumpkins. But I just love grunge and alternative a lot anyway.

Did somebody say they hated Black Hole Sun? That is probably one of the most fun overall songs to play in the game. The Guitar part is above the average of the rest of the tracks in the game, the Drum part is awesome and the Vocals are, well, do I even have to remind anyone that in his prime Cornell was one of the best vocalists of all time?

Kill Yourself whoever said Black Hole Sun was the worst song in the game, this concludes my rant against the musically botarded....

My least favorites would have to be Green Grass and High Tides (the song is okay I guess, but I can't forgive it for what it does to me on drums), Wave of Mutilation (sooo boring!), and Run For The Hills.

Maps is definitely one of the better group songs as it's fun and catchy for all ages. Yeah it's simple, but that's the beauty of it.
In regards to the overall worst song, well I could just say anything from the Queens of the Stone Age as in MY OPINION they represent today's typical three-chord, simple-talent bands. This unfortunately is a modern trend.
The thing here is that Rock Band does not have a "worst song". We just have diversified tastes. It's difficult to make a stubborn Linkin Park kid understand the musical complexities of classics and true rock music due to the simplicity and blandness of today's bands.
Keep in mind that this game is attempting to satisfy young gamers and older gamers as well as group/party gamers and "solo" indiviuals.
In a world where reggaeton and rap is actually considered "music", I must insist that Rock Band does NOT have a worst song. Just songs that I do not care for as much but respect that they require instruments and musicianship to be performed. Even if it's a three cord song. :)
Peace.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the single worst song in the game so far is In Bloom. The song is just outright boring, and I just don't like playing it on any instrument. But Cherub Rock is a real close second, I didn't like that one on the radio, on GH3 or on RB.

On the other hand I really enjoy GGHT even on drums because it's a good song and it's an endurance challenge. I would also add a vote for Next to You as one of the better songs, even though I never really heard it before playing RB.

These are the songs my bandmates and I agree suck the worst (so far):
1. Highway Star
2. Mississippi Queen
3. Detroit Rock City
4. Train Kept A Rollin'
5. Seven

We've decided that these songs suck, not because they're performed badly or by people we don't like, or because they were overplayed on the radio, but because they're so damn annoying to play in the game. This takes into account our (pretty different) musical tastes.

Every song can have something good about it, and you can learn to love any song, but there are some that make you burst out swearing whenever they show up on Mystery Requests.

Timmy and the lords of the underworld... why in gods name is that on here its like trogdor from Guitar hero III, both completely awful. As for set songs Orange Crush is pretty terrible I dread playing it every time it comes on also Dead on Arrival and whatever that awful flyleaf song was. I can't hate on maps just because the YYY's new EP album was really good.

Yeah, you might not remember but Harmonix apparently likes to put "joke" or popular internet songs in their games. Trogdor, Thunderhorse, that track by Spinal Tap. Here's hoping to see Still Alive in DLC!

I'm going to say that horrible "Should I Stay or Should I Go?" garbage though.

Maps...
It's a cool enough song and I 'get' the Yeah Yeah Yeahs (they are highly experimental) but for some reason my Xbox punishes us with Maps over and over and over and over on random setlists...
MAKE IT STOP!

Sabotage by the Beastie Boys.

Just. . . Just, no. No. No. NO. I refuse to play that song. Heheh. Vocals, drums, guitar, bass--Doesn't matter! I refuse to play it. It's just. . . It's an annoying song, and I can't stand to hear it. XD

The absolute worst song in the game is that irritating Fallout Boy piece of crap. What were they thinking?

i HATE HATE HATE black hole sun.

Idiot. The people who say they hate this song also means you hated "The Crow" as a movie, also making you ******ed.

Aerosmith is the worst
also the Rolling Stones suck donkey balls

I understand that people aren't big fans of Aerosmith, 'cept for "Dream On", but what excuse do you have for the Rolling Stones? They had too many good songs?

For my money, Black Hole Sun is abysmal. I love you, Harmonix, but if you ever put a song that bad in one if your games again I'm going to blow up a post office.

What's so abysmal about it? Try capturing the sadness of the world in a purple looking-glass and you have "Black Hole Sun". Incubus did a cover on the song, quoting at the beginning: "We're going to move on to a song we all wish we wrote."

We all failed out at one time or another. We tried playing the song 3 times, we failed each time, and lost 44,800 fans...
I don't like that song...

My drummer had the hardest problem with this song, but I only personally screwed up twice. First time, the drummer failed with me. Second time, just the drummer. Third time, I dropped out but was saved by the drummer at the last second to finish the song.

Don't hate cuz you can't beat it.

Beastie Boys song, and Bon Jovi are the ones I hope I never have to play, ever.

/slap

I had to deal with them and Avenged Sevenfold for about a year, I hate that chick.

What's wrong with Avenged Sevenfold again?

I do love and hope for some DLC of Led Zep, Hendrix, or Beatles.

Damn straight. "Purple Haze" comes to mind out of the three.

Talk about repetitive - Sabotage is not only the worst song in the game but possibly of all time

Either you were a sheltered child, as you've never heard anything worse, or you're a stuck-up rich kid who can't relate to them because you can't relate to turmoil.

..."Ballroom Blitz" tie for third-worst.

I understand it's not Krokus, but I see no reason as why the song should be considered crappy in any regards.

One song that always made me cringe on the radio, but which we love to play in Rock Band, is Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive."

It's a great song, and the only reason you appreciate it on Rock Band is because some parts are more emphasized, therefore you can't just blatantly ignore the little things that make the song so well-made.

...but that song 'Ballroom Blitz' is pretty damn annoying.

It's not Krokus, but that's definitely not the worst song.

Sabotage, probably because I don't like the beastie boys

Yeah, probably.

I KNOW! Last Child, and then Same Old Song and Dance, and NOW THIS? Wow! Let's have like Love in An Elevator, Draw the Line, Living On The Edge how about????

"Dream On" seems feasible.

God I hate Rush. Ugghhh.

><

Gimmie shelter. I hate that song so much, the vocals is hard and you cant hear his voice over the womens vocals most of the time. that and I hate the rolling stones.

I agree that they effed up the vocals for Rock Band, but there's nothing wrong with the actual song.

Sabotage by Beastie Boys, god, I hated that, it's so discordant it's borderline painful to my ears.

*sigh*

I'd have to say that the song I hate the most in RB is Creep. I have never liked the song and RB hasn't done anything to make it any better.

Radiohead is always a 50% true love or true hate. I can guess you're on the hating side.

I am really, very surprised that BALLROOM BLITZ is not one of the choices here.
that song is so incredibly stupid i openly refuse to play it.

Gee, over-react much? If the songs were truly THAT crappy, they wouldn't have made it in the game.

I think a lot of people have forgotten that The Beastie Boys have a song in this game. I don't know about anyone else, but I tend to not like music that sounds like kittens being tortured by a howling wolverine that has strep throat.

Totally the upper-middle class / rich backgrounds that hate this song. Yeah, their target audience tend to be the people who can relate to suffering. It uses historical reference and was this new version of rap-like rocking with turntablism introduced in the pop-scene.

Ballroom blitz is the worst song I've ever played on any rythym game. I can barely listen to it. I've been tempted to play it with the sound off on career mode just to get through it. The annoying voice, camp lyrics, just irratating.

I can think of some bonus songs on Guitar Hero and horrendous Jap-pop crap that was on DDR, and some songs on Karaoke Revolution, all of which had worse songs. "worst song" . . .

why does Ballroom Blitz sound like it was recorded by Snagglepuss?

Definitely isn't Krokus, but it definitely isn't that bad.

Sabotage... stupid songs that you can't really sing/talk.

What?

Did somebody say they hated Black Hole Sun? That is probably one of the most fun overall songs to play in the game. The Guitar part is above the average of the rest of the tracks in the game, the Drum part is awesome and the Vocals are, well, do I even have to remind anyone that in his prime Cornell was one of the best vocalists of all time?

Kill Yourself whoever said Black Hole Sun was the worst song in the game, this concludes my rant against the musically botarded....

Yessir!

Dude....The vocals for Blackened are horrible....and I love doing the vocals for the Emoish stuff....I just wish the game caught screaming a little better because then the scream parts on "I'm so Sick", "The Kill", etc would read when I do them

Completely agree. They screwed up the scream parts. Those songs need som serious patching. You want to see how bad it is? Take a stream with just the singer singing and play the recording to the game. It'll still be off.

the worst song is by far........................drum roll please............................................ .......................WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE i HATE that song, the only challenging thing about playiing that song is not falling asleep. but hey.....thats just me.

Yep.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the single worst song in the game so far is In Bloom. The song is just outright boring, and I just don't like playing it on any instrument. But Cherub Rock is a real close second, I didn't like that one on the radio, on GH3 or on RB.

That's weird.

I played all the guitar heros and beat Jordan on Expert n 5 starred all the experts n wut not but i cannot beat this song

I didn't beat Jordan and didn't five-star every song and still beat this song on the first try? Umm... I don't think someone can 5-star Six and The Light That Blinds and Through the Fire and Flames and can't beat this song.

Highway Star

I know the singer hates to sing it by 50% of the time, but there's definitely nothing wrong with the song.

XD

Creep should really be on that list, by far the most annoying song to play on guitar, vocals, or drums its not fun its not entertaining in any which way whatsoever its just annoying. The vocals bore me to death, the guitar has an annoyingly boring rhythm and the same goes for the drums. But then again this is just one guys opinion.

I like a good joke about people not knowing who originally made a song, but this is going too far, and is poorly executed. Had you chosen Tia Carrera's cover of Sweet's Ballroom Blitz, as I did when making the same joke, it might have been funny, but already done.

Or you are just an ignorant fool and can't realize that Krokus was paying tribute to Sweet when they, and dozens of other bands, covered the song Ballroom Blitz. The fact that Krokus is best known for a cover song is a good sign that you are betting on the wrong horse here.

Now if only we can get Love is Like Oxygen in future DLC.

And I care why? The question was what is the worst song overall to play in rock band. Not what is the song they messed the lyrics up on.
It's a boring song, and frankly no matter who I have over of my friends, no matter what instrument they play, they dread this song.

And trust me when I say my friends come from age 16 to 35 and from very different musical back grounds from classical all the way to rap.

It is a bit repetitive on drums and the bass pedal is tough, but it sounds really good and I like it. It is actually a lot of better than most songs as far as musical quality go, the guitar solo's are very good.

Odd. I'm not going to castigate you for disliking Queens of the Stone Age, but it's sort of off that you consider them a typical three chord band. Their musical arrangements are much more complex than that. It may not be to everyone's taste, but I'd hardly call it the work of simple talents.

I was joking. I like the song, but the long keyboard section is a pain to wait through. (Imagine what Baba O'Rily will be like....all those keys.....)

Really, I like every song. Except for mabye Go With The Flow, Main Offender, and Electric Version. They aren't bad songs, just forgetable.

I find maps being one of my favorite songs, sure the lyrics are repetitive, and the guitar parts are pretty boring, but if you sing and play either guitar part at the same time, they aren't so bad, the drums I find amazing, and fun to play. plus my 2 kids (3 and 5 year olds) like to sing it, which is pretty cute too. I find timmy and the underworld to be one of the most annoying songs, it says the same thing over and over as well, but other than the slight challenge to drumming, the songs is, well, annoying to me anyways.
