Backspace malfunction

Everytime I back space, it hits the back button on my browser...

I am no computer/IE genius, but how in the nine-hells do I stop it?

I had a very detailed step-by-step description of how to fix this problem, but then I accidentally hit the backspace button.

My only other answer is "use Firefox", but I guess that doesn't help much.
