I'm new to the whole XBOX live thing; but I didn't realize it costs $$$ to export the songs so that they are available in RB2.
Is there any way around that, or is that just the way it is?
I already paid to own the title; so why do I also have to pay to copy it onto my hard drive?

because they need to relicense it as a dlc.
the other option around it is to play rb1 which I'm sure you wont do.

not $$$ just $. It's only 5 bucks. That comes to like 10 cents a song. And like azn said, you could just switch out the discs.

It's only $5 for 55 songs. On average you pay $1 per song on DLC... consider it an incredible savings.
Apparently if you copy the songs over, there are something like 3 or 4 that aren't included. I had heard the Iron Maiden song is one, but not sure which ones are not included. Not sure why they're left out either. I'd assume someone wants a bigger cut of the pie or something...

"Paranoid" as made famous by Black Sabbath, "Run to the Hills" as made famous by Iron Maiden, and "Enter Sandman" by Metallica are not transferred over.
