Unlocking Songs in single player?

I don't want to play tour mode to unlock songs... you end up playing the same song too many times, and I just want to go through the game like you could in Rock Band 1. Is there a quicker way to unlock the songs.

Also, you can't edit what your character looks like without being in tour mode, so you can't do it solo either, any way around that?

Play in challenge mode.

There are cheat codes for unlocking everything in quick play.
I have the ps3 code: r,y,b,r,r,b,b,r,y,b (colors)
