Does anyone love the movie buffy the vampire slayer but hate the tv show?

Never watched the movie. The show's alright, but haven't watched that many episodes of it.

Of course, I'm reminded of Stargate. I remember hating it when I first watched the movie, and hating it more when I tried to watch it again after getting into SG-1 and Atlantis, many years later. I didn't watch the TV series because I didn't like the movie... and that was a mistake. Great show with a much better cast than the movie. (Also, I'm glad they got rid of the alien languages, and the everyone's frozen after they pass thru the gate stuff, because that would have gotten boring really fast)

I was like that when the show first came out. I loved the movie and when I saw the previews for the show thought it was ridiculous. And then one of my friends was a huge Sarah Michelle Gellar/Buffy fan and kept asking me to tape it for him and I did which in turn got me watching it and I liked it as well.

The problem I had was they were so vastly different. Movie being a comedy and series being a drama. I just couldn't wrap my mind around it but I came to like it.

Movie is infinitely better.

As for the claims the Stargate shows are better than the movie...HERESY. That's just plain ludicrous. The movie is a classic, the show is mediocre at best.

I actually really enjoy both. They are very different beasts, but both are fun to watch.

I love the movie and the series.

My only real issue with the TV series (especially the first season) is the contradictions to her "origin".


In the movie she is a Senior in high school, but when the series begins she in a Sophomore. WTF?

Also, why is there never a mention of Lothos, Amilyn, Pike or Merrick in the TV series?

I like the movie but I OMGlove the show. I'm actually watching through it again in the evenings right now, about 2/3 of the way through season 6. I definitely think the show got weaker as it went on, the first 4 or so seasons were easily the best, but even the later seasons are still pretty awesome. <3 Alyson Hannigan.

Um, no. And for many. If not most fans of the franchise it would be the exact opposite.

Personally I loved the show. Didn't hate the movie but it was merely a stepping stone for Joss to get to the depth of the story if you ask me.
