Dear Harmonix, I just wanted to let you know what a lousy job EA is doing on the Rock Band 2 replacement program. I received my copy of Rock Band 2 Special Edition for the Xbox 360 yesterday (10/20/08) and to my surprise (or lack of, considering that I had my Rock Band 1 guitar replaced twice) the Xbox 360 wireless guitar didn’t work properly. The strum bar is locking on down strum and there is a red wire pinched on the top of the guitar. After contacting EA support through the replacement website and emailing my Amazon invoice (pre-order date 08/17/08, ship date 10/17/08, clearly stated on the invoice in bold print) I was told that I didn’t qualify for the 60 day replacement under warranty. The product is not even out that long and even with a valid invoice they told me I didn’t qualify! After almost 30 minutes on the phone I finally could get this resolved, but I just wanted to let the community know that the extra bonus that EA is giving to whoever pre-ordered Rock Band 2 is out-of-the box expired warranty. Besides, the lack of quality control is amazing. Who would pack a guitar with a red wire pinched and exposed on the top edge of the black guitar body?

The 60-day warranty is a giant f*&ing scam with such faulty hardware.

EA should be ashamed of themselves for new equipment. Clearly if tha damage done was from abuse, the warranty should not be honored, but when pedals are breaking at the bottom left, right and centre it's a sure sign that the equipment was tested by 9 years olds with bandy legs.

Absolute friggin' disgrace.

That's rather dirty pool EA is playing. Just because you PAID for it pre-released, they're claiming you're out warranty? That is so lame. That is also why I refuse to call them on my dime because it takes so freakin' long to get anything done. I've asked them to call me and I'll be glad to talk to them. They said they can't make outgoing calls. Yah.

Dobyblue: Hey, those responses are the EXACT same ones I got to my inquiries, even some of the "names" are the same! Those EA "bots" are dumb and just make the situation worse with their scripted and canned responses.

Let's hope that the instruments for the ****other**** music game have a better quality and full compatibility. My Xbox 360 Les Paul is a workhorse, has been working flawlessly for over a year. Maybe EA should buy their guitars from Redoctane...
