Rock Band patching/expanding?

I pre-ordered Rock Band the day it popped up for reserves, I picked it up the first day, and I love it. However, there are some design oversights that I'm sure were due to time constraints. My question, I guess, is - realistically, how much can we expect to see fixed through patches/downloads?

I mean, would it be possible to see an online BWT mode? Or the ability to use one character on multiple instruments? Or a solo world tour? or a way sing and play guitar simultaneously on the same character? Or are all the downloads going to strictly be more songs? If so, you know, I can live with that. This game is great and I'm happy as is, but if some, or all, of these issues can be smoothed out in the future that would kinda make this the greatest game ever.

We'll probably have to wait for either an expansion or a sequel to get a lot of those features (other than the BWT online that is rumored to be in a patch some day). Harmonix says they have no intention of making BWT for solo either, but I think they'll change their minds in RB2 or RB:Sequel etc.

I'd love to see everything tied to my BAND not my LEADER-PLAYER.

the only thing i can really see them changing in a patch would be how characters are handled. i think any character should be able to play any insterment. also they neeed to make a patch to make the les paul work on the ps3. if they do that i would be really happy.
